Theseare the goldentumorswhichthe Philistinesreturnedfor a guiltofferingto the LORD:onefor Ashdod,onefor Gaza,onefor Ashkelon,onefor Gath,onefor Ekron;
"Tell[it] not in Gath,Proclaimit not in the streetsof Ashkelon,Orthe daughtersof the Philistineswill rejoice,The daughtersof the uncircumcisedwill exult.
Thesefourwere bornto the giantin Gath,and they fellby the handof Davidand by the handof his servants.
And Ahaziahfellthroughthe latticein his upperchamberwhich[was] in Samaria,and becameill.So he sentmessengersand saidto them, "Go,inquireof Baal-zebub,the godof Ekron,whetherI will recoverfrom thissickness."
Now he wentout and warredagainst the Philistines,and brokedownthe wallof Gathand the wallof Jabnehand the wallof Ashdod;and he builtcitiesin [the area of] Ashdodand among the Philistines.
and allthe foreignpeople,allthe kingsof the landof Uz,allthe kingsof the landof the Philistines(even Ashkelon,Gaza,Ekronand the remnantof Ashdod);
But ifhe cannotafforda lamb,then he shall bringto the LORDhis guiltofferingfor that in whichhe has sinned,twoturtledovesortwoyoungpigeons,onefor a sinofferingand the otherfor a burntoffering.
Thussaysthe LORD,"For threetransgressionsof Gazaand for fourI will not revokeits [punishment], Becausethey deportedan entirepopulationTo deliver[it] up to Edom.
Gooverto Calnehand look,And gofrom thereto Hamaththe great,Then godownto Gathof the Philistines.Are they betterthanthesekingdoms,Oris their territorygreaterthanyours?
"The LORDwill smiteyou with the boilsof Egyptand with tumorsand with the scaband with the itch,from whichyou cannotbe healed.
And JudahtookGazawith its territoryand Ashkelonwith its territoryand Ekronwith its territory.
Then the Spiritof the LORDcameupon him mightily,and he wentdownto Ashkelonand killedthirtyof them and tooktheir spoiland gavethe changes[of clothes] to those who toldthe riddle.And his angerburned,and he wentup to his father'shouse.
Now Samsonwentto Gazaand sawa harlotthere,and wentin to her.
Then the Philistinesseizedhim and gougedout his eyes;and they broughthim downto Gazaand boundhim with bronzechains,and he was a grinderin the prison.
Now the Philistinestookthe arkof Godand broughtit from Ebenezerto Ashdod.
So they sentthe arkof Godto Ekron.And as the arkof Godcameto Ekronthe Ekronitescriedout, saying,"They have broughtthe arkof the Godof Israelaroundto us, to killus and our people."
So they sentand gatheredallthe lordsof the Philistinesto them and said,"Whatshall we dowith the arkof the Godof Israel?"And they said,"Let the arkof the Godof Israelbe broughtaroundto Gath."And they broughtthe arkof the Godof Israel[around].
Then they said,"Whatshall be the guiltofferingwhichwe shall returnto Him?" And they said,"Fivegoldentumorsand fivegoldenmice[according to] the numberof the lordsof the Philistines,for oneplaguewas on allof you and on your lords.
