"Thereforethe LORDGodof Israeldeclares,I did indeedsaythat your houseand the houseof your fathershould walkbeforeMe forever;but nowthe LORDdeclares,'Farbe it from Me-- for those who honorMe I will honor,and those who despiseMe will be lightlyesteemed.
So the LORDsaidto Solomon,"Becauseyou have donethis,and you have not keptMy covenantand My statutes,whichI have commandedyou, I will surelytearthe kingdomfrom you, and will giveit to your servant.
So SolomondismissedAbiatharfrom beingpriestto the LORD,in order to fulfillthe wordof the LORD,whichHe had spokenconcerningthe houseof Eliin Shiloh.
"Whatmorecan Davidstill[say] to You concerning the honor[bestowed] on Your servant?For You knowYour servant.
and he wentout to meetAsaand saidto him, "Listento me, Asa,and allJudahand Benjamin:the LORDis with you when you are with Him. And ifyou seekHim, He will let you findHim; but ifyou forsakeHim, He will forsakeyou.
They opposedUzziahthe kingand saidto him, "It is not for you, Uzziah,to burnincenseto the LORD,but for the priests,the sonsof Aaronwho are consecratedto burnincense.Getout of the sanctuary,for you have beenunfaithfuland will have nohonorfrom the LORDGod."
The LORDhas rewardedme according to my righteousness;According to the cleannessof my handsHe has recompensedme.
With the pureYou showYourself pure,And with the crookedYou showYourself astute.
"He who offersa sacrificeof thanksgivinghonorsMe; And to him who orders[his] way[aright] I shall showthe salvationof God."
Like a dreamwhenone awakes,O Lord,when aroused,You will despisetheir form.
"Becausehe has lovedMe, therefore I will deliverhim; I will sethim [securely] on high,becausehe has knownMy name.
"He will callupon Me, and I will answerhim; I will be with him in trouble;I will rescuehim and honorhim.
"They shall be on Aaronand on his sonswhen they enterthe tentof meeting,orwhen they approachthe altarto ministerin the holyplace, so that they do not incurguiltand die.It [shall be] a statuteforeverto him and to his descendantsafterhim.
"You shall girdthem with sashes,Aaronand his sons,and bindcapson them, and they shall havethe priesthoodby a perpetualstatute.So you shall ordainAaronand his sons.
A manwill be praisedaccordingto his insight,But one of perversemindwill be despised.
"Prizeher, and she will exaltyou; She will honoryou ifyou embraceher.
"I lovethose who loveme; And those who diligentlyseekme will findme.
Then the Lordsaid,"Becausethispeopledrawnearwith their wordsAnd honorMe with their lipservice,But they removetheir heartsfarfrom Me, And their reverencefor Me consistsof traditionlearned[by rote],
thereforethussaysthe LORD,"Behold,I am about to punishShemaiahthe Nehelamiteand his descendants;he will not haveanyonelivingamongthispeople,and he will not seethe goodthat I am about to doto My people,"declaresthe LORD,"becausehe has preachedrebellionagainstthe LORD."'"
"For behold,I have madeyou smallamong the nations,Despisedamong men.
Thussaysthe LordGOD,"Behold,I am againstthe shepherds,and I will demandMy sheepfrom them and make them ceasefrom feedingsheep.So the shepherdswill not feedthemselves anymore,but I will deliverMy flockfrom their mouth,so that they will not be foodfor them."'"
"But at the endof that period,I, Nebuchadnezzar,raisedmy eyestoward heavenand my reasonreturnedto me, and I blessedthe MostHighand praisedand honoredHim wholivesforever;For His dominionis an everlastingdominion,And His kingdom[endures] from generationto generation.
"'A sonhonors[his] father,and a servanthis master.Then ifI am a father,whereis My honor?And ifI am a master,whereis My respect?'saysthe LORDof hoststo you, O priestswho despiseMy name.But you say,'Howhave we despisedYour name?'
"Behold,I am going to rebukeyour offspring,and I will spreadrefuseon your faces,the refuseof your feasts;and you will be takenaway with it.
but a wholemonth,untilit comesout of your nostrilsand becomesloathsometo you; becauseyou have rejectedthe LORDwhois amongyou and have weptbeforeHim, saying,"Whydid we everleaveEgypt?"'"
You shall not defilethe landin whichyou live,in the midstof whichI dwell;for I the LORDam dwellingin the midstof the sonsof Israel.'"
"IfanyoneservesMe, he must followMe; and whereI am,thereMy servantwill be also;ifanyoneservesMe, the Fatherwill honorhim.
sothat allwill honorthe Sonevenas they honorthe Father.He who does not honorthe Sondoes not honorthe Fatherwho sentHim.
"Howcanyou believe,when you receivegloryfrom one anotherand you do not seekthe glorythat is from the [one and] onlyGod?
Jesusanswered,"I do not havea demon;but I honorMy Father,and you dishonorMe.
Thereforedo not go on passing judgmentbeforethe time,[but wait] untilthe Lordcomeswhowill bothbring to lightthe things hiddenin the darknessand disclosethe motivesof [men's] hearts;and theneach man'spraisewill cometo him from God.
sothat the proofof your faith,[being] more preciousthan goldwhich is perishable,even thoughtestedby fire,may be foundto resultin praiseand gloryand honorat the revelationof JesusChrist;
"Then the treessaidto the figtree,'You come,reignoverus!'
