And Godsentan angelto Jerusalemto destroyit; but as he was about to destroy[it], the LORDsawand was sorryoverthe calamity,and saidto the destroyingangel,"It is enough;nowrelaxyour hand."And the angelof the LORDwas standingby the threshingfloorof Ornanthe Jebusite.
for we are about to destroythisplace,becausetheir outcryhas becomesogreatbeforethe LORDthat the LORDhas sentus to destroyit."
The LORDwas sorrythat He had mademanon the earth,and He was grievedin His heart.
When the angelstretchedout his handtoward Jerusalemto destroyit, the LORDrelentedfrom the calamityand saidto the angelwho destroyedthe people,"It is enough!Nowrelaxyour hand!"And the angelof the LORDwas by the threshingfloorof Araunahthe Jebusite.
So Gadcameto Davidthat dayand saidto him, "Goup, erectan altarto the LORDon the threshingfloorof Araunahthe Jebusite."
But he himselfwenta day'sjourneyinto the wilderness,and cameand satdownundera junipertree;and he requestedfor himselfthat he might die,and said,"It is enough;now,O LORD,takemy life,for I am not betterthanmy fathers."
Then Solomonbeganto buildthe houseof the LORDin Jerusalemon MountMoriah,where[the LORD] had appearedto his fatherDavid,at the placethat Davidhad preparedon the threshingfloorof Ornanthe Jebusite.
But He, being compassionate,forgave[their] iniquityand did not destroy[them]; And oftenHe restrainedHis angerAnd did not arouseallHis wrath.
Do return,O LORD;howlong[will it be]? And be sorryfor Your servants.
So the LORDchangedHis mindaboutthe harmwhichHe saidHe would doto His people.
"Makesupplicationto the LORD,for there has been enoughof God'sthunderand hail;and I will letyou go,and you shall staynolonger."
"Micahof Moreshethprophesiedin the daysof Hezekiahkingof Judah;and he spoketo allthe peopleof Judah,saying,'Thusthe LORDof hostshas said,"Zionwill be plowed[as] a field,And Jerusalemwill becomeruins,And the mountainof the houseas the highplacesof a forest."'
"Whyhave you prophesiedin the nameof the LORDsaying,'Thishousewill be like Shilohand thiscitywill be desolate,withoutinhabitant?"And allthe peoplegatheredaboutJeremiahin the houseof the LORD.
"But gonowto My placewhichwas in Shiloh,whereI made My namedwellat the first,and seewhatI didto it becauseof the wickednessof My peopleIsrael.
The LORDchangedHis mindaboutthis."It shall not be," saidthe LORD.

When Godsawtheir deeds,that they turnedfrom their wickedway,then Godrelentedconcerningthe calamitywhichHe had declaredHe would bringupon them. And He did not do[it].
He prayedto the LORDand said,"PleaseLORD,was not thiswhatI saidwhileI was stillin my [own] country?Thereforein order to forestallthis I fledto Tarshish,for I knewthat You are a graciousand compassionateGod,slowto angerand abundantin lovingkindness,and one who relentsconcerningcalamity.
And He camethe third time,and saidto them, "Are you stillsleepingand resting?It is enough;the hourhas come;behold,the Sonof Manis being betrayedinto the handsof sinners.
Norgrumble,as someof them did,and were destroyedby the destroyer.
So they putawaythe foreigngodsfrom amongthem and servedthe LORD;and He couldbearthe miseryof Israelnolonger.
Whenthe LORDraisedup judgesfor them, the LORDwas with the judgeand deliveredthem from the handof their enemiesallthe daysof the judge;for the LORDwas movedto pityby their groaningbecauseof those who oppressedand afflictedthem.
"I regretthat I have madeSaulking,for he has turnedbackfrom followingMe and has not carriedout My commands."And Samuelwas distressedand criedout to the LORDallnight.
