Then they believed His words; They sang His praise.


Often they have distressed me from my youth. Let Yisra’ĕl now say,


“And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the Valley of Aḵor a place for herds to lie down, for My people who have sought Me.


“And they shall build houses and inhabit them, and plant vineyards and eat their fruit.


And the word of יהוה came to me, saying,


“Go, and you shall cry in the hearing of Yerushalayim, saying, ‘Thus said יהוה, “I remember you, the loving-commitment of your youth, the love of your bridehood, when you went after Me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.


For I know the plans I am planning for you,’ declares יהוה, ‘plans of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and an expectancy.


“Shall you not from now on cry to Me, ‘My father, You are the guide of my youth?


For thus said יהוה of hosts, the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, “Houses and fields and vineyards shall again be bought in this land.” ’


This I recall to my mind, therefore I wait:


“And in all your abominations and whorings you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, trampled down in your blood.


“But I shall remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I shall establish an everlasting covenant with you.


“Again I passed by you and looked upon you and saw that your time was the time of carnal-love. And I spread My skirt over you and covered your nakedness. And I swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine,” declares the Master יהוה.


Thus said the Master יהוה, “When I have gathered the house of Yisra’ĕl from the peoples among whom they are scattered, I shall be set-apart in them before the eyes of the nations. And they shall dwell in their own land which I gave to My servant Ya‛aqoḇ.


“And they shall dwell safely, and build houses, and plant vineyards, and dwell safely, when I execute judgments on all those around them who despise them. And they shall know that I am יהוה their Elohim.” ’ ”


“When Yisra’ĕl was a child, I loved him, and out of Mitsrayim I called My son.


And by a prophet יהוה brought Yisra’ĕl out of Mitsrayim, and by a prophet he was watched over.


“But I am יהוה your Elohim since the land of Mitsrayim, again I shall make you dwell in tents as in the days of the appointed time.


“But I am יהוה your Elohim since the land of Mitsrayim, and an Elohim besides Me you shall not know, for there is no Saviour besides Me.


and lay waste her vines and her fig trees, of which she has said, ‘these are my harlot-fees that my lovers have given me.’ And I shall make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.


“And I shall turn back the captivity of My people Yisra’ĕl. And they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them. And they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them, and shall make gardens and eat their fruit.


“Return to the stronghold, you prisoners of the expectation. Even today I declare that I return double to you.


Yisra’ĕl then sang this song: “Spring up, O well! Sing to it,


“I am the door. Whoever enters through Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and shall go out and find pasture.


And having arrived, and having gathered together the assembly, they related all that Elohim had done with them, and that He had opened the door of belief to the nations.


And they raised over him a great heap of stones, which remains to this day. Then יהוה turned from the fierceness of His displeasure. Therefore the name of that place has been called the Valley of Aḵor to this day.


Thus the children of Yisra’ĕl did not remember יהוה their Elohim, who had delivered them from the hands of all their enemies round about,
