I said: O Lord, be thou merciful to me: heal my soul, for I have sinned against thee.


Then shalt thou accept the sacrifice of justice, oblations and whole burnt offerings: then shall they lay calves upon thy altar.


That I might shew thee the certainty, and the words of truth, to answer out of these to them that sent thee.


And whereas Ecclesiastes was very wise, he taught the people, and declared the things that he had done: and seeking out, he set forth many parables.


FORASMUCH as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a narration of the things that have been accomplished among us;


THE former treatise I made, O Theophilus, of all things which Jesus began to do and to teach,


But Peter began and declared to them the matter in order, saying:


For which cause I judge that they, who from among the Gentiles are converted to God, are not to be disquieted.


It hath seemed good to us, being assembled together, to choose out men, and to send them unto you, with our well beloved Barnabas and Paul:


For it hath seemed good to the Holy Ghost and to us, to lay no further burden upon you than these necessary things:


And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went through the country of Galatia and Phrygia, in order, confirming all the disciples.

We accept it always and in all places, most excellent Felix, with all thanksgiving.


And Paul said: I am not mad, most excellent Festus, but I speak words of truth and soberness.


And touching our brother Apollo, I give you to understand, that I much entreated him to come unto you with the breatheren: and indeed it was not his will at all to come at this time. But he will come when he shall have leisure.


But more blessed shall she be, if she so remain, according to my counsel; and I think that I also have the spirit of God.


These things proposing to the brethren, thou shalt be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished up in the words of faith, and of the good doctrine which thou hast attained unto.
