Doth God require it of thee, because it hath displeased thee? For thou begannest to speak, and not I: but if thou know any thing better, speak.


Have mercy on me, O God, according to thy great mercy. And according to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my iniquity.


For behold thou hast loved truth: the uncertain and hidden things of thy wisdom thou hast made manifest to me.


Why dost thou turn away thy hand: and thy right hand out of the midst of thy bosom for ever?


But thou shalt consider with thy eyes: and shalt see the reward of the wicked.


God said to Moses: I AM WHO AM. He said: Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel: HE WHO IS hath sent me to you.


The man that with a stiff neck despiseth him that reproveth him, shall suddenly be destroyed: and health shall not follow him.


And all things that are done, God will bring into judgment for every error, whether it be good or evil.


Let us have pity on the wicked: but he will not learn justice. In the land of the saints he hath done wicked things: and he shall not see the glory of the Lord.


I have always held my peace, I have I kept silence, I have been patient. I will speak now as a woman in labour: I will destroy, and swallow up at once.


For whom hast thou been solicitous and afraid, that thou hast lied and hast not been mindful of me, nor thought on me in thy heart? For I am silent and as one that seeth not: and thou hast forgotten me.


How canst thou say: I am not polluted, and I have not walked after Baalim? See thy ways in the valley, know what thou hast done: as a swift runner pursuing his course.


The Lord hath sworn against the pride of Jacob: surely I will never forget all their works.


God is not a man, that he should lie: nor as the son of man, that he should be changed. Hath he said then, and will he not do? Hath he spoken, and will he not fulfil?


Therefore judge not before the time; until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall every man have praise from God.


The Lord delayeth not his promise, as some imagine, but dealeth patiently for your sake, not willing that any should perish, but that all should return to penance.


Such as I love, I rebuke and chastise. Be zealous therefore, and do penance.
