A psalm of David. Lord, who shall dwell in thy tabernacle? or who shall rest in thy holy hill?
And they come to thee, as if a people were coming in, and my people sit before thee: and hear thy words, and do them not: for they turn them into a song of their mouth, and their heart goeth after their covetousness.
And he saith to them: It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.
And Joanna the wife of Chusa, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others who ministered unto him of their substance.
And the hireling flieth, because he is a hireling: and he hath no care for the sheep.
For some thought, because Judas had the purse, that Jesus had said to him: Buy those things which we have need of for the festival day: or that he should give something to the poor.
Nor the effeminate, nor liers with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor railers, nor extortioners, shall possess the kingdom of God.
