² H3615And it came to pass, that when they had made an end[H8765] H398of eating[H8800] H6212the grassH776of the landH559, then I said[H8799] H136, O LordH3069GODH5545, forgive[H8798] H3290, I beseech thee: by whom shall JacobH6965arise[H8799] H6996? for he is small.

³ H3068The LORDH5162repented[H8738] H559for this: It shall not be, saith[H8804] H3068the LORD.

⁴ H136Thus hath the LordH3069GODH7200shewed[H8689] H136unto me: and, behold, the LordH3069GODH7121called[H8802] H7378to contend[H8800] H784by fireH398, and it devoured[H8799] H7227the greatH8415deepH398, and did eat up[H8804] H2506a part.

⁵ H559Then said[H8799] H136I, O LordH3069GODH2308, cease[H8798] H3290, I beseech thee: by whom shall JacobH6965arise[H8799] H6996? for he is small.

⁶ H3068The LORDH5162repented[H8738] H559for this: This also shall not be, saith[H8804] H136the LordH3069GOD.

⁷ H7200Thus he shewed[H8689] H136me: and, behold, the LordH5324stood[H8737] H2346upon a wallH594made by a plumblineH594, with a plumblineH3027in his hand.

⁸ H3068And the LORDH559said[H8799] H5986unto me, AmosH7200, what seest[H8802] H559thou? And I said[H8799] H594, A plumblineH559. Then said[H8799] H136the LordH7760, Behold, I will set[H8802] H594a plumblineH7130in the midstH5971of my peopleH3478IsraelH3254: I will not again[H8686] H5674pass by[H8800]  them any more:

⁹ H1116And the high placesH3446of IsaacH8074shall be desolate[H8738] H4720, and the sanctuariesH3478of IsraelH2717shall be laid waste[H8799] H6965; and I will rise[H8804] H1004against the houseH3379of JeroboamH2719with the sword.

¹¹ H5986For thus AmosH559saith[H8804] H3379, JeroboamH4191shall die[H8799] H2719by the swordH3478, and IsraelH1540shall surely[H8800] H1540be led away captive[H8799] H127out of their own land.

¹² H558Also AmaziahH559said[H8799] H5986unto AmosH2374, O thou seerH3212, go[H8798] H1272, flee thee away[H8798] H776into the landH3063of JudahH398, and there eat[H8798] H3899breadH5012, and prophesy[H8735]  there:

¹³ H5012But prophesy[H8736] H3254not again[H8686] H1008any more at BethelH4428: for it is the king'sH4720chapelH4467, and it is the king'sH1004court.

¹⁴ H6030Then answered[H8799] H5986AmosH559, and said[H8799] H558to AmaziahH5030, I was no prophetH5030, neither was I a prophet'sH1121sonH951; but I was an herdmanH1103, and a gatherer[H8802] H8256of sycomore fruit:

¹⁶ H8085Now therefore hear[H8798] H1697thou the wordH3068of the LORDH559: Thou sayest[H8802] H5012, Prophesy[H8735] H3478not against IsraelH5197, and drop[H8686] H1004not thy word against the houseH3446of Isaac.

¹⁷ H559Therefore thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH802; Thy wifeH2181shall be an harlot[H8799] H5892in the cityH1121, and thy sonsH1323and thy daughtersH5307shall fall[H8799] H2719by the swordH127, and thy landH2505shall be divided[H8792] H2256by lineH4191; and thou shalt die[H8799] H5921inH2931a pollutedH127landH3478: and IsraelH1540shall surely[H8800] H1540go into captivity[H8799] H127forth of his land.
