¹ H5283Now NaamanH8269, captainH6635of the hostH4428of the kingH758of SyriaH1419, was a greatH376manH6440withH113his masterH5375, and honourable[H8803] H3068, because by him the LORDH5414had given[H8804] H8668deliveranceH758unto SyriaH1368: he was also a mightyH376manH2428in valourH6879, but he was a leper[H8794] .

² H758And the SyriansH3318had gone out[H8804] H1416by companiesH7617, and had brought away captive[H8799] H776out of the landH3478of IsraelH6996a littleH5291maidH6440; and she waited onH5283Naaman'sH802wife.

³ H559And she said[H8799] H1404unto her mistressH305, WouldH113God my lordH6440were withH5030the prophetH8111that is in SamariaH227! forH622he would recover[H8799] H6883him of his leprosy.

⁴ H935And one went in[H8799] H5046, and told[H8686] H113his lordH559, saying[H8800] H1696, Thus and thus said[H8765] H5291the maidH776that is of the landH3478of Israel.

⁵ H4428And the kingH758of SyriaH559said[H8799] H3212, Go to[H8798] H935, go[H8798] H7971, and I will send[H8799] H5612a letterH4428unto the kingH3478of IsraelH3212. And he departed[H8799] H3947, and took[H8799] H3027with himH6235tenH3603talentsH3701of silverH8337, and sixH505thousandH2091pieces of goldH6235, and tenH2487changesH899of raiment.

⁶ H935And he brought[H8686] H5612the letterH4428to the kingH3478of IsraelH559, saying[H8800] H5612, Now when this letterH935is come[H8800] H7971unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent[H8804] H5283NaamanH5650my servantH622to thee, that thou mayest recover[H8804] H6883him of his leprosy.

⁷ H4428And it came to pass, when the kingH3478of IsraelH7121had read[H8800] H5612the letterH7167, that he rent[H8799] H899his clothesH559, and said[H8799] H430, Am I GodH4191, to kill[H8687] H2421and to make alive[H8687] H2088, that this manH7971doth send[H8802] H622unto me to recover[H8800] H376a manH6883of his leprosyH389? whereforeH3045consider[H8798] H7200, I pray you, and see[H8798] H579how he seeketh a quarrel[H8693]  against me.

⁸ H477And it was so, when ElishaH376the manH430of GodH8085had heard[H8800] H4428that the kingH3478of IsraelH7167had rent[H8804] H899his clothesH7971, that he sent[H8799] H4428to the kingH559, saying[H8800] H7167, Wherefore hast thou rent[H8804] H899thy clothesH935? let him come[H8799] H3045now to me, and he shall know[H8799] H3426that there isH5030a prophetH3478in Israel.

⁹ H5283So NaamanH935came[H8799] H5483with his horsesH7393and with his chariotH5975, and stood[H8799] H6607at the doorH1004of the houseH477of Elisha.

¹⁰ H477And ElishaH7971sent[H8799] H4397a messengerH559unto him, saying[H8800] H1980, Go[H8800] H7364and wash[H8804] H3383in JordanH7651sevenH6471timesH1320, and thy fleshH7725shall come again[H8799] H2891to thee, and thou shalt be clean[H8798] .

¹¹ H5283But NaamanH7107was wroth[H8799] H3212, and went away[H8799] H559, and said[H8799] H559, Behold, I thought[H8804] H3318, He will surely[H8800] H3318come out[H8799] H5975to me, and stand[H8804] H7121, and call[H8804] H8034on the nameH3068of the LORDH430his GodH5130, and strike[H8689] H3027his handH4725over the placeH622, and recover[H8804] H6879the leper[H8794] .

¹² H71Are not Abana[H8676] H549 H6554and PharparH5104, riversH1834of DamascusH2896, betterH4325than all the watersH3478of IsraelH7364? may I not wash[H8799] H2891in them, and be clean[H8804] H6437? So he turned[H8799] H3212and went away[H8799] H2534in a rage.

¹³ H5650And his servantsH5066came near[H8799] H1696, and spake[H8762] H559unto him, and said[H8799] H1, My fatherH5030, if the prophetH1696had bid[H8765] H1419thee do some greatH1697thingH6213, wouldest thou not have done[H8799] H637it ? how much rather thenH559, when he saith[H8804] H7364to thee, Wash[H8798] H2891, and be clean[H8798] ?

¹⁴ H3381Then went he down[H8799] H2881, and dipped[H8799] H7651himself sevenH6471timesH3383in JordanH1697, according to the sayingH376of the manH430of GodH1320: and his fleshH7725came again[H8799] H1320like unto the fleshH6996of a littleH5288childH2891, and he was clean[H8799] .

¹⁵ H7725And he returned[H8799] H376to the manH430of GodH4264, he and all his companyH935, and came[H8799] H5975, and stood[H8799] H6440beforeH559him: and he said[H8799] H3045, Behold, now I know[H8804] H430that there is no GodH776in all the earthH3478, but in IsraelH3947: now therefore, I pray thee, take[H8798] H1293a blessingH5650of thy servant.

¹⁶ H559But he said[H8799] H3068, As the LORDH2416livethH6440, beforeH5975whom I stand[H8804] H3947, I will receive[H8799] H6484none. And he urged[H8799] H3947him to take[H8800] H3985it; but he refused[H8762] .

¹⁷ H5283And NaamanH559said[H8799] H5414, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given[H8714] H5650to thy servantH6776twoH6505mulesH4853' burdenH127of earthH5650? for thy servantH6213will henceforth offer[H8799] H5930neither burnt offeringH2077nor sacrificeH312unto otherH430godsH3068, but unto the LORD.

¹⁸ H1697In this thingH3068the LORDH5545pardon[H8799] H5650thy servantH113, that when my masterH935goeth[H8800] H1004into the houseH7417of RimmonH7812to worship[H8692] H8172there, and he leaneth[H8737] H3027on my handH7812, and I bow[H8694] H1004myself in the houseH7417of RimmonH7812: when I bow down[H8692] H1004myself in the houseH7417of RimmonH3068, the LORDH5545pardon[H8799] H5650thy servantH1697in this thing.

¹⁹ H559And he said[H8799] H3212unto him, Go[H8798] H7965in peaceH3212. So he departed[H8799] H3530from him a littleH776way.

²⁰ H1522But GehaziH5288, the servantH477of ElishaH376the manH430of GodH559, said[H8799] H113, Behold, my masterH2820hath spared[H8804] H5283NaamanH761this SyrianH3947, in not receiving[H8800] H3027at his handsH935that which he brought[H8689] H3068: but, as the LORDH2416livethH7323, I will run[H8804] H310afterH3947him, and take[H8804] H3972somewhat of him.

²¹ H1522So GehaziH7291followed[H8799] H310afterH5283NaamanH5283. And when NaamanH7200saw[H8799] H7323him running[H8801] H310afterH5307him, he lighted down[H8799] H4818from the chariotH7125to meet[H8800] H559him, and said[H8799] H7965, Is all well?

²² H559And he said[H8799] H7965, All is wellH113. My masterH7971hath sent[H8804] H559me, saying[H8800] H935, Behold, even now there be come[H8804] H2022to me from mountH669EphraimH8147twoH5288young menH1121of the sonsH5030of the prophetsH5414: give[H8798] H3603them, I pray thee, a talentH3701of silverH8147, and twoH2487changesH899of garments.

²³ H5283And NaamanH559said[H8799] H2974, Be content[H8685] H3947, take[H8798] H3603two talentsH6555. And he urged[H8799] H6696him, and bound[H8799] H8147twoH3603talentsH3701of silverH8147in twoH2754bagsH8147, with twoH2487changesH899of garmentsH5414, and laid[H8799] H8147them upon twoH5288of his servantsH5375; and they bare[H8799] H6440them before him.

²⁴ H935And when he came[H8799] H6076to the towerH3947, he took[H8799] H3027them from their handH6485, and bestowed[H8799] H1004them in the houseH582: and he let the menH7971go[H8762] H3212, and they departed[H8799] .

²⁵ H935But he went in[H8802] H5975, and stood[H8799] H113before his masterH477. And ElishaH559said[H8799] H370unto him, WhenceH1522comest thou, GehaziH559? And he said[H8799] H5650, Thy servantH1980went[H8804] H575no whither.

²⁶ H559And he said[H8799] H1980unto him, Went[H8804] H3820not mine heartH376with thee, when the manH2015turned[H8804] H4818again from his chariotH7125to meet[H8800] H6256thee? Is it a timeH3947to receive[H8800] H3701moneyH3947, and to receive[H8800] H899garmentsH2132, and oliveyardsH3754, and vineyardsH6629, and sheepH1241, and oxenH5650, and menservantsH8198, and maidservants?

²⁷ H6883The leprosyH5283therefore of NaamanH1692shall cleave[H8799] H2233unto thee, and unto thy seedH5769for everH3318. And he went out[H8799] H6440from his presenceH6879a leper[H8794] H7950as white as snow.
