H7673And he put down[H8689] H3649the idolatrous priestsH4428, whom the kingsH3063of JudahH5414had ordained[H8804] H6999to burn incense[H8762] H1116in the high placesH5892in the citiesH3063of JudahH4524, and in the places round aboutH3389JerusalemH6999; them also that burned incense[H8764] H1168unto BaalH8121, to the sunH3394, and to the moonH4208, and to the planetsH6635, and to all the hostH8064of heaven.

H3318And he brought out[H8686] H842the groveH1004from the houseH3068of the LORDH2351, withoutH3389JerusalemH5158, unto the brookH6939KidronH8313, and burned[H8799] H5158it at the brookH6939KidronH1854, and stamped it small[H8686] H6083to powderH7993, and cast[H8686] H6083the powderH6913thereof upon the gravesH1121of the childrenH5971of the people.

H5422And he brake down[H8799] H1004the housesH6945of the sodomitesH1004, that were by the houseH3068of the LORDH802, where the womenH707wove[H8802] H1004hangingsH842for the grove.

H935And he brought[H8686] H3548all the priestsH5892out of the citiesH3063of JudahH2930, and defiled[H8762] H1116the high placesH3548where the priestsH6999had burned incense[H8765] H1387, from GebaH884to BeershebaH5422, and brake down[H8804] H1116the high placesH8179of the gatesH6607that were in the entering inH8179of the gateH3091of JoshuaH8269the governorH5892of the cityH376, which were on a man'sH8040left handH8179at the gateH5892of the city.

H3548Nevertheless the priestsH1116of the high placesH5927came not up[H8799] H4196to the altarH3068of the LORDH3389in JerusalemH398, but they did eat[H8804] H4682of the unleavened breadH8432amongH251their brethren.

H2930And he defiled[H8765] H8612TophethH1516, which is in the valleyH1121of the children[H8675] H1121 H2011of HinnomH376, that no manH1121might make his sonH1323or his daughterH5674to pass through[H8687] H784the fireH4432to Molech.

H7673And he took away[H8686] H5483the horsesH4428that the kingsH3063of JudahH5414had given[H8804] H8121to the sunH935, at the entering in[H8800] H1004of the houseH3068of the LORDH3957, by the chamberH5419of NathanmelechH5631the chamberlainH6503, which was in the suburbsH8313, and burned[H8804] H4818the chariotsH8121of the sunH784with fire.

H4196And the altarsH1406that were on the topH5944of the upper chamberH271of AhazH4428, which the kingsH3063of JudahH6213had made[H8804] H4196, and the altarsH4519which ManassehH6213had made[H8804] H8147in the twoH2691courtsH1004of the houseH3068of the LORDH4428, did the kingH5422beat down[H8804] H7323, and brake them down[H8799] H7993from thence, and cast[H8689] H6083the dustH5158of them into the brookH6939Kidron.

H1116And the high placesH6440that were beforeH3389JerusalemH3225, which were on the right handH2022of the mountH4889of corruptionH8010, which SolomonH4428the kingH3478of IsraelH1129had builded[H8804] H6253for AshtorethH8251the abominationH6722of the ZidoniansH3645, and for ChemoshH8251the abominationH4124of the MoabitesH4445, and for MilcomH8441the abominationH1121of the childrenH5983of AmmonH4428, did the kingH2930defile[H8765] .

H7665And he brake in pieces[H8765] H4676the imagesH3772, and cut down[H8799] H842the grovesH4390, and filled[H8762] H4725their placesH6106with the bonesH120of men.

H4196Moreover the altarH1008that was at BethelH1116, and the high placeH3379which JeroboamH1121the sonH5028of NebatH3478, who made IsraelH2398to sin[H8689] H6213, had made[H8804] H4196, both that altarH1116and the high placeH5422he brake down[H8804] H8313, and burned[H8799] H1116the high placeH1854, and stamped[H8689] H6083it small to powderH8313, and burned[H8804] H842the grove.

H2977And as JosiahH6437turned[H8799] H7200himself, he spied[H8799] H6913the sepulchresH2022that were there in the mountH7971, and sent[H8799] H3947, and took[H8799] H6106the bonesH6913out of the sepulchresH8313, and burned[H8799] H4196them upon the altarH2930, and polluted[H8762] H1697it, according to the wordH3068of the LORDH376which the manH430of GodH7121proclaimed[H8804] H7121, who proclaimed[H8804] H1697these words.

H559Then he said[H8799] H6725, What titleH1975is thatH7200that I see[H8802] H582? And the menH5892of the cityH559told[H8799] H6913him, It is the sepulchreH376of the manH430of GodH935, which came[H8804] H3063from JudahH7121, and proclaimed[H8799] H1697these thingsH6213that thou hast done[H8804] H4196against the altarH1008of Bethel.

H559And he said[H8799] H3240, Let him alone[H8685] H376; let no manH5128move[H8686] H6106his bonesH6106. So they let his bonesH4422alone[H8762] H6106, with the bonesH5030of the prophetH935that came out[H8804] H8111of Samaria.

H1004And all the housesH1116also of the high placesH5892that were in the citiesH8111of SamariaH4428, which the kingsH3478of IsraelH6213had made[H8804] H3707to provoke the LORD to anger[H8687] H2977, JosiahH5493took away[H8689] H6213, and did[H8799] H4639to them according to all the actsH6213that he had done[H8804] H1008in Bethel.

H2076And he slew[H8799] H3548all the priestsH1116of the high placesH4196that were there upon the altarsH8313, and burned[H8799] H120men'sH6106bonesH7725upon them, and returned[H8799] H3389to Jerusalem.

H4428And the kingH6680commanded[H8762] H5971all the peopleH559, saying[H8800] H6213, Keep[H8798] H6453the passoverH3068unto the LORDH430your GodH3789, as it is written[H8803] H5612in the bookH1285of this covenant.

H6213Surely there was not holden[H8738] H6453such a passoverH3117from the daysH8199of the judges[H8802] H8199that judged[H8804] H3478IsraelH3117, nor in all the daysH4428of the kingsH3478of IsraelH4428, nor of the kingsH3063of Judah;

H8083But in the eighteenthH6240 H8141yearH4428of kingH2977JosiahH6453, wherein this passoverH6213was holden[H8738] H3068to the LORDH3389in Jerusalem.

H178Moreover the workers with familiar spiritsH3049, and the wizardsH8655, and the imagesH1544, and the idolsH8251, and all the abominationsH7200that were spied[H8738] H776in the landH3063of JudahH3389and in JerusalemH2977, did JosiahH1197put away[H8765] H6965, that he might perform[H8687] H1697the wordsH8451of the lawH3789which were written[H8803] H5612in the bookH2518that HilkiahH3548the priestH4672found[H8804] H1004in the houseH3068of the LORD.

H4428And like unto him was there no kingH6440beforeH7725him, that turned[H8804] H3068to the LORDH3824with all his heartH5315, and with all his soulH3966, and with all his mightH8451, according to all the lawH4872of MosesH310; neither afterH6965him arose[H8804]  there any like him.

H3068Notwithstanding the LORDH7725turned[H8804] H2740not from the fiercenessH1419of his greatH639wrathH639, wherewith his angerH2734was kindled[H8804] H3063against JudahH3708, because of all the provocationsH4519that ManassehH3707had provoked[H8689]  him withal.

H3068And the LORDH559said[H8799] H5493, I will remove[H8686] H3063JudahH6440also out of my sightH5493, as I have removed[H8689] H3478IsraelH3988, and will cast off[H8804] H5892this cityH3389JerusalemH977which I have chosen[H8804] H1004, and the houseH559of which I said[H8804] H8034, My name shall be there.

H3499Now the restH1697of the actsH2977of JosiahH6213, and all that he did[H8804] H3789, are they not written[H8803] H5612in the bookH1697of the chroniclesH3117 H4428of the kingsH3063of Judah?

H3117In his daysH6549PharaohnechohH4428kingH4714of EgyptH5927went up[H8804] H4428against the kingH804of AssyriaH5104to the riverH6578EuphratesH4428: and kingH2977JosiahH3212went[H8799] H7125against[H8800] H4191him; and he slew[H8686] H4023him at MegiddoH7200, when he had seen[H8800]  him.

H5650And his servantsH7392carried him in a chariot[H8686] H4191dead[H8801] H4023from MegiddoH935, and brought[H8686] H3389him to JerusalemH6912, and buried[H8799] H6900him in his own sepulchreH5971. And the peopleH776of the landH3947took[H8799] H3059JehoahazH1121the sonH2977of JosiahH4886, and anointed[H8799] H4427him, and made him king[H8686] H1in his father's stead.

H3059JehoahazH6242was twentyH7969and threeH8141yearsH1121oldH4427when he began to reign[H8800] H4427; and he reigned[H8804] H7969threeH2320monthsH3389in JerusalemH517. And his mother'sH8034nameH2537was HamutalH1323, the daughterH3414of JeremiahH3841of Libnah.

H6213And he did[H8799] H7451that which was evilH5869in the sightH3068of the LORDH1, according to all that his fathersH6213had done[H8804] .

H6549And PharaohnechohH631put him in bands[H8799] H7247at RiblahH776in the landH2574of HamathH4427, that he might not reign[H8800] H3389in JerusalemH5414; and put[H8799] H776the landH6066to a tributeH3967of an hundredH3603talentsH3701of silverH3603, and a talentH2091of gold.

H6549And PharaohnechohH471made EliakimH1121the sonH2977of JosiahH4427king[H8686] H2977in the room of JosiahH1his fatherH5437, and turned[H8686] H8034his nameH3079to JehoiakimH3947, and tookH3059JehoahazH3947away[H8804] H935: and he came[H8799] H4714to EgyptH4191, and died[H8799]  there.

H3079And JehoiakimH5414gave[H8804] H3701the silverH2091and the goldH6547to PharaohH6186; but he taxed[H8689] H776the landH5414to give[H8800] H3701the moneyH6310according to the commandmentH6547of PharaohH5065: he exacted[H8804] H3701the silverH2091and the goldH5971of the peopleH776of the landH376, of every oneH6187according to his taxationH5414, to give[H8800] H6549it unto Pharaohnechoh.

H3079JehoiakimH6242was twentyH2568and fiveH8141yearsH1121oldH4427when he began to reign[H8800] H4427; and he reigned[H8804] H259elevenH6240 H8141yearsH3389in JerusalemH517. And his mother'sH8034nameH2080was ZebudahH1323, the daughterH6305of PedaiahH7316of Rumah.

H6213And he did[H8799] H7451that which was evilH5869in the sightH3068of the LORDH1, according to all that his fathersH6213had done[H8804] .
