Job 27 - Easy To Read Version1 Then Job continued telling his story. Job said,\par 2 “Truly, God lives.\par And just as truly as God lives,\par He has truly been unfair with me.\par God All-Powerful made my life bitter.\par 3 But as long as life is in me\par and God’s breath of life is in my nose,\par 4 then my lips will not speak evil things,\par and my tongue will never tell a lie.\par 5 I will never admit that you men are right.\par I will continue saying I am innocent\par until the day I die.\par 6 I will hold tightly\par to the right things I did.\par I will never stop living right.\par My conscience will never bother me\par as long as I live.\par 7 “People have stood against me.\par I hope my enemies are punished\par like bad men should be punished.\par 8 If a person does not care about God,\par then there is no hope for that person\par when he dies.\par That person has no hope\par when God takes his life away.\par 9 That evil person will have troubles,\par and he will cry to God for help.\par But God won’t listen to him!\par 10 That person should have enjoyed\par \{talking with\} God All-Powerful.\par That person should have prayed to God\par all the time.\par 11 “I will teach you about God’s power.\par I will not hide God All-Powerful’s plans.\par 12 You have seen God’s power\par with your own eyes.\par So why do you say such useless things?\par 13 This is what God planned for evil people.\par This is what cruel people will get\par from God All-Powerful:\par 14 An evil person might have many children.\par But his children will be killed in war.\par The children of an evil person\par will not have enough to eat.\par 15 All of his children will die,\par and his widow will not be sad.\par 16 An evil person might get so much silver\par that it is like dirt to him.\par He might have so many clothes\par that they are like piles of clay.\par 17 But a good person will get his clothes\par Innocent people will get his silver.\par 18 An evil man might build a house,\par but it will not last a long time.\par It will be like a spider’s web\par or a watchman’s tent.\par 19 An evil person might be rich\par when he goes to bed.\par But when he opens his eyes,\par all his riches will be gone.\par 20 He will be scared.\par It will be like a flood,\par like a storm came\par and carried everything away.\par 21 The east wind will carry him away,\par and he will be gone.\par The storm will sweep him\par out of his home.\par 22 The evil person might try to run away\par from the power of the storm.\par But the storm will hit him without mercy.\par 23 Men will clap their hands\par as the evil person runs away.\par They will whistle at that evil person\par |
