This temple will be destroyed. Every person who sees it will be amazed. They will ask, ‘Why did the Lord do this terrible thing to this land and to this temple?’


People will push him away from light\par into the darkness.\par They will chase him out of this world.\par


Like a dream, he will fly away\par and no one will ever find him.\par He will be forced away and forgotten\par like a bad dream. {\cf2\super [33]} \par


“There are mines where people get silver\par and places where people\par melt gold to make it pure.\par


Job adds rebellion to his other sins.\par Job sits there in front of us and insults us\par and makes fun of God!”\par


He will never come back\par to his old house again.\par His home won’t know him any more.\par


When good people are successful, all the city is happy. When evil people are destroyed, people shout with joy.


I will completely destroy this city. People will whistle and shake their heads when they pass by Jerusalem. They will be shocked when they see how the city was destroyed.


The people that pass by on the road\par clap their hands at you in shock.\par They whistle and shake their heads\par at the Daughter of Jerusalem.\par They ask,\par “Is this the city that people called,\par ‘The Perfectly Beautiful City’ and\par ‘The Joy of all the Earth’?”\par


The Lord says these things: You were happy that Jerusalem was destroyed. You clapped your hands and stamped your feet. You had fun insulting the land of Israel.


Why? Because you obey the laws of Omri. {\cf2\super [78]} \par You do all the \{bad\} things\par that Ahab’s family does.\par You follow their teachings.\par So I will let you be destroyed.\par People will whistle in amazement\par when they see your destroyed city.\par Then you will bear the shame\par that the other nations bring to you. {\cf2\super [79]} \par


Nineveh, you have been hurt badly, and nothing can heal your wound. Everyone who hears the news of your destruction claps his hands. They are all happy! Why? Because they all felt the pain you always caused!


Nineveh is so proud now. It is such a happy city. The people think they are safe. They think Nineveh is the greatest place in the world. But that city will be destroyed! It will be an empty place where only wild animals go to rest. People that pass that place will whistle and shake their heads \{when they see how badly the city was destroyed\}.


Be happy because of this, O heaven!\par Be happy, God’s holy people {\cf2\super [134]} and apostles {\cf2\super [135]} and prophets {\cf2\super [136]} !\par God has punished her because of the things she did to you.’”\par
