He blessed him, and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth.


Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have lifted up my hand to YHWH, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth,


Whereas you came but yesterday, should I today make you go up and down with us, since I go where I may? Return and take back your brothers. Mercy and truth be with you.”


So David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh Gilead, who had stolen them from the street of Beth Shan, where the Philistines had hanged them in the day that the Philistines killed Saul in Gilboa;


May y’all be blessed by YHWH, who made heaven and earth.


The men said to her, “Our life for y’all’s, if y’all don’t report our mission. Then, when YHWH gives us the land, we will deal kindly and faithfully with you.”


They said, “What one is there of the tribes of Israel who didn’t come up to YHWH to Mizpah?” But no one came from Jabesh Gilead to the camp to the assembly.


Then Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Y’all should go back—return to y’all’s mother’s house. May YHWH show y’all the same kindness that y’all have shown to your dead husbands and to me.


Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, “May YHWH bless him, the one who has not withdrawn his lovingkindness to the living and to the dead.” Then Naomi also said to her, “The man is our close relative, one of our kinsmen-redeemers.”


He said, “May YHWH bless you, my daughter. You have shown more kindness in this than what you did earlier, because you didn’t go after the young men, whether poor or rich.


Then Nahash the Ammonite came up and besieged Jabesh Gilead. All the men of Jabesh said to Nahash, “Make a covenant with us, and we will serve you.”


They said to the messengers who came, “Y’all are to tell the men of Jabesh Gilead, ‘Tomorrow, by the time the sun is hot, y’all will have deliverance.’” The messengers came and told the men of Jabesh; and they were glad.


Samuel came to Saul; and Saul said to him, “You are blessed by YHWH! I have performed the commandment of YHWH.”


Saul said, “May y’all be blessed by YHWH, because y’all have had compassion on me.


For if a man finds his enemy, will he let him go away unharmed? Therefore may YHWH reward you good for that which you have done to me today.
