He blessed him, and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth.


The human said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”


David sent messengers to the men of Jabesh Gilead, and said to them, “May YHWH bless y’all because y’all have shown this kindness to Saul your* lord by burying him.


Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.


He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.


There is a generation, oh how lofty are their eyes! Their eyelids are lifted up.


Y’all give her of the fruit of her hands! Let her works praise her in the gates!


In the same way, when y’all have done all the things that are commanded, y’all should say, ‘We are unworthy servants. We have only done our duty.’”


The Pharisee stood and prayed about himself like this: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other humans: extortionists, law breakers, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

He said, “May YHWH bless you, my daughter. You have shown more kindness in this than what you did earlier, because you didn’t go after the young men, whether poor or rich.


Just as he finished offering the burnt offering, Samuel arrived. So Saul went out to meet and greet him.


“It grieves me that I have set up Saul to be king, for he has turned back from following me, and has not performed my commandments.” Samuel was angry; and he cried to YHWH all night.


Saul said to Samuel, “But I have obeyed YHWH’s voice, and have gone the way which YHWH sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.


But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, of the cattle, of the fat calves, of the lambs, and all that was good, and were not willing to utterly destroy them; but everything that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.


Saul said, “May y’all be blessed by YHWH, because y’all have had compassion on me.


But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal’s wife, saying, “Look, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to greet our master, but he insulted them.
