The LORD spoke to Moshe, *Go, get down; for your people, who you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves!
The earth also is polluted under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, and broken the everlasting covenant.
Return to him from whom you have deeply revolted, children of Yisra'el.
Thus says the LORD to this people, Even so have they loved to wander; they have not refrained their feet: therefore the LORD does not accept them; now he will remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
You, son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord GOD concerning the children of `Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and say you, A sword, a sword is drawn, for the slaughter it is furbished, to cause it to devour, that it may be as lightning;
*Yisra'el, you have sinned from the days of Gevah. There they remained. The battle against the children of iniquity doesn't overtake them in Gevah.
It will be, like people, like Kohen; and I will punish them for their ways, and will repay them for their deeds.
*Blow the cornet in Gevah, and the shofar in Ramah! Sound a battle cry at Beit-Aven, behind you, Binyamin!
They don't consider in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness. Now their own deeds have engulfed them. They are before my face.
As for the sacrifices of my offerings, they sacrifice flesh and eat it; But the LORD doesn't accept them. Now he will remember their iniquity, and punish their sins. They will return to Egypt.
A prophet watches over Efrayim with my God. A fowler's snare is on all of his paths, and hostility in the house of his God.
I said, *Just fear me. Receive correction, so that her dwelling won't be cut off, according to all that I have appointed concerning her.* But they rose early and corrupted all their doings.

They enclosed the Binyamini round about, [and] chased them, [and] trod them down at [their] resting place, as far as over against Gevah toward the sunrise.
