When the people were come into the camp, the elders of Yisra'el said, Why has the LORD struck us today before the Pelishtim? Let us get the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of Shiloh to us, that it may come among us, and save us out of the hand of our enemies.

The king said to Tzadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favor in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and show me both it, and his habitation:


It happened, when David lived in his house, that David said to Natan the prophet, Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD [dwells] under curtains.


Why do you draw back your hand, even your right hand? Take it out of your pocket and consume them!


Thus says the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother's divorce, with which I have put her away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities were you sold, and for your transgressions was your mother put away.


Why have we fasted, [say they], and you don't see? [why] have we afflicted our soul, and you take no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast you find [your own] pleasure, and exact all your labors.

It shall come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, says the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD; neither shall it come to mind; neither shall they remember it; neither shall they miss it; neither shall it be made any more.


Don't you trust in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, are these.
