Proud and wicked people make evil plans.\par And they hurt poor people.\par


Destroy my enemy completely.\par Let the next generation remove his name\par from everything.\par


Why are the people from other nations\par so angry?\par Why are they making foolish plans?\par


I hear the terrible things people say about me.\par Those people turned against me.\par They plan to kill me.\par


My enemies are not really making plans for peace.\par They are secretly making plans\par to do bad things to the peaceful people\par in this country.\par


The enemies are saying,\par “Come, let us destroy them completely.\par Then no person will ever again\par remember the name ‘Israel’.”\par


Then \{God\} spoke to me. He said, “Son of man, {\cf2\super [95]} these are the men who make evil plans for this city. These men always tell the people to do bad things.


Herod {\cf2\super [29]} saw that the wise men had fooled him. Herod was very, very angry. So Herod gave an order to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and in all the area around Bethlehem. Herod had learned from the wise men the time \{the baby was born\}. It was now two years from that time. So Herod said to kill all the boys that were two years old and younger.


Then Herod sent the wise men to Bethlehem. Herod said to the wise men, “Go and look carefully to find the new baby. When you find the baby, come tell me. Then I can go worship him too.”


They wanted to find a way to arrest Jesus. But they were afraid of the people, because the people believed that Jesus was a prophet. {\cf2\super [304]}
