Psalm 2 - Easy To Read Version

¹ Why are the people from other nations\par so angry?\par Why are they making foolish plans?\par

² Their kings and leaders joined together\par to fight against the Lord\par and against the king he chose.\par

³ \{Those leaders said,\}\par “Let’s rebel against God\par and against the king he chose.\par “Let’s break free from them!”\par

^4-6 But my Master, the King in heaven,\par laughs at those people.\par

⁷ Now I will tell you about the Lord’s agreement.\par The Lord said to me,\par “Today I become your father! {\cf2\super [4]} \par And you are my son.\par

⁸ If you ask me,\par I will give the nations to you.\par All the people on earth will be yours!\par

⁹ You could destroy those nations like\par an iron rod shattering a clay pot. {\cf2\super [5]} ”\par

¹⁰ So, you kings, be wise.\par All you rulers, learn this lesson.\par

¹¹ Obey the Lord with much fear.\par

¹² Show that you are loyal to God’s son. {\cf2\super [6]} \par If you don’t do this,\par he will become angry and destroy you.\par
