A group of witnesses {\cf2\super [217]} are planning\par to hurt me.\par Those people will ask me questions\par that I know nothing about.\par
“Don’t tell lies against other people. If you are a witness in court, then don’t agree to help a bad person tell lies.
If a person tells the truth, then he is honest in the things he says. But if a person lies, then that leads to trouble.
A truthful person does not lie—he is a good witness. But a person that can’t be trusted never tells the truth—he is a bad witness.
A troublemaker is always causing problems. That person spreads gossip and causes trouble between close friends.
A person who tells a lie against another person will be punished. The person who tells lies will not be safe.

All these bad things begin in a person’s mind: evil thoughts, murder, adultery, {\cf2\super [210]} sexual sins, stealing, lying, saying bad things against other people.
The leading priests and the Jewish council tried to find something against Jesus so that they could kill him. They tried to find people to lie and say that Jesus had done wrong.
The Jews brought some men into the meeting. They told these men to tell lies about Stephen. The men said, “This man (Stephen) always says bad things about this holy place (the temple). And he always says bad things against the law \{of Moses\}.
Stay away from foolish and stupid arguments. You know that those arguments grow into bigger arguments.
