Psalm 27 - Easy To Read Version

¹ Lord, you are my Light and my Savior.\par I should not be afraid of anyone!\par The Lord is the place of safety for my life.\par So I will not be afraid of any person.\par

² Evil people might attack me.\par They might try to destroy my body.\par My enemies might try to attack\par and destroy me.\par

³ But even if an army is all around me,\par I will not be afraid.\par Even if people attack me in war,\par \{I will not be afraid\}.\par Why? Because I trust the Lord.\par

⁴ I ask only one thing from the Lord:\par “Let me sit in his temple {\cf2\super [161]} all my life,\par so I can see the Lord’s beauty\par and visit his palace. {\cf2\super [162]} ”\par

⁵ The Lord will protect me\par when I am in danger.\par He will hide me in his tent. {\cf2\super [163]} \par He will take me up\par to his place of safety.\par

⁶ My enemies have surrounded me.\par But the Lord will help me defeat them!\par Then I will offer sacrifices {\cf2\super [164]} in his tent. {\cf2\super [165]} \par I will give the sacrifices\par with shouts of joy.\par I will sing and play songs\par to honor the Lord.\par

⁷ Lord, hear my voice.\par Answer me.\par Be kind to me.\par

⁸ Lord, I want to talk with you.\par I want to speak to you from my heart.\par I come before you to speak with you.\par

⁹ Lord, don’t turn away from your servant.\par Help me!\par Don’t push me away!\par Don’t leave me!\par My God, you are my Savior.\par

¹⁰ My mother and my father left me.\par But the Lord took me\par and made me his.\par

¹¹ I have enemies, Lord.\par So teach me your ways.\par Teach me to do the right things.\par

¹² My enemies have attacked me.\par They have told lies about me.\par They have told lies to hurt me.\par

¹³ I truly believe that I will see\par the Lord’s goodness before I die. {\cf2\super [166]} \par

¹⁴ Wait for the Lord’s help!\par Be strong and brave,\par and wait for the Lord’s help!\par
