The ground will grow thorns and weeds for you. And you will have to eat the plants that grow wild in the fields. [19]
The woman saw the tree was beautiful. She saw the fruit was good to eat. And it was exciting that the tree would make her wise. So the woman took fruit from the tree and ate it. Her husband was there with her, so she gave some of the fruit to him and he ate it.
Lamech named his son Noah. [36] Lamech said, “We work very hard as farmers because God cursed the ground. But Noah will bring us rest.”
The Lord smelled these sacrifices, and it pleased him. The Lord said to himself, “I will never again curse the ground as a way to punish people. People are evil from the time that they are young. So I will never again destroy every living thing on the earth like I have just done.
\{Job said,\} “We are all human beings. {\cf2\super [24]} Our life is short and full of trouble.
But, how often does God blow out\par the light of evil people?\par How often does trouble come\par to the evil people?\par When does God become angry at them\par and punish them?\par
It is a waste of time\par to get up early and stay up late,\par trying to make a living.\par God cares for the people he loves,\par even while they are sleeping.\par
But then I looked at all the things I had done. I thought about all the hard work I did. I decided it was all a waste of time! It was like trying to catch the wind. {\cf2\super [8]} There is nothing to gain from all the things we do in this life.
This made me hate life. It made me very sad to think that everything in this life {\cf2\super [10]} is useless, like trying to catch the wind. {\cf2\super [11]}
He only gets days that are filled with sadness and sorrow. In the end, he is frustrated, sick, and angry!
The king said, ‘Friend, how were you allowed to come in here? You are not wearing the right clothes for a wedding.’ But the man said nothing.
“Then the king will answer, ‘I tell you the truth. Anything you refused to do for any of my people here, {\cf2\super [390]} you refused to do for me.’
Then the king said to the servant, ‘You bad servant! I will use your own words to condemn you. You said that I am a hard man. You said that I even take money that I didn’t earn and gather food that I didn’t grow.
“I told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have trouble. But be brave! I have defeated the world!”
These things the law {\cf2\super [28]} says are for the people that are under the law. This stops all \{Jewish\} people from making excuses and brings the whole world (Jews and non-Jews) under God’s judgment.
But if that land grows thorns and weeds, it is worthless. That land is in danger that it will be cursed by God. And that land will be destroyed by fire.
