One of the prophets was named Zedekiah. He was the son of Kenaanah. Zedekiah made some iron horns. [229] Then he said to Ahab, “The Lord says, ‘You will use these iron horns to fight against the army of Aram. You will defeat them and destroy them.’”

All the other prophets agreed with what Zedekiah said. The prophet said, “Your army should march now. They should fight against the army of Aram at Ramoth. You will win the fight. The Lord will allow you to win.”


Then the prophet Zedekiah went to Micaiah. Zedekiah hit Micaiah on the face. Zedekiah said, “Do you really believe that the Lord’s power has left me and is now speaking through you?”


The Lord All-Powerful says these things:\par “Don’t pay attention to the things\par that those prophets are saying to you.\par They are trying to fool you.\par Those prophets talk about visions. {\cf2\super [190]} \par But they did not get their visions from me.\par Their visions come from their own minds.\par


Some of the people hate\par the real messages from the Lord.\par So those prophets give a different message\par to those people.\par They say,\par ‘You will have peace.’\par Some of the people are very stubborn.\par They do only the things they want to do.\par So those prophets say,\par ‘Nothing bad will happen to you!’\par


“There are prophets that preach lies in my name. They say, ‘I have had a dream! I have had a dream!’ I heard them say those things.


I am against the false prophets.” This message is from the Lord. “They use their own words and pretend that it is a message from me.


This is what the Lord said to me: “Jeremiah, make a yoke {\cf2\super [211]} out of straps and poles. Put that yoke on the back of your neck.


The Lord All-Powerful says this about Ahab son of Kolaiah and Zedekiah son of Maaseiah: “These two men have been preaching lies to you. They have said that their message is from me. \{But they were lying.\} I will give those two prophets to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. And Nebuchadnezzar will kill those prophets in front of all you people that are captives in Babylon.


I watched the ram run into things with its horns. I watched the ram run to the west and to the north and to the south. No animal could stop the ram. And no one could save the other animals. That ram could do whatever it wanted to do. So the ram became very powerful.


The judges in Jerusalem accept bribes\par to help them decide who wins in court.\par The priests in Jerusalem must be paid\par before they will teach the people.\par People must pay the prophets\par before they will look into the future.\par And then those leaders expect the Lord\par to help them. They say,\par “The Lord lives here with us.\par So nothing bad will happen to us.”\par


He came to us and borrowed Paul’s belt. Then Agabus used the belt to tie his own hands and feet. Agabus said, “The Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [418]} tells me, ‘This is how the Jews in Jerusalem will tie the man who wears this belt. {\cf2\super [419]} Then they will give him to the non-Jewish people.’”


Joseph is like a powerful bull. His two sons are like bull’s horns. They will attack other people and push them to the ends of the earth! Yes, Manasseh has thousands of people, and Ephraim has ten thousands.”


Remember Jannes and Jambres. {\cf2\super [17]} They were against Moses. {\cf2\super [18]} It is the same with these people. They are against the truth. They are people whose thinking has been confused. They have failed in trying to follow the faith.
