There was a man in the country of Uz named Job. He was a man of complete integrity, who feared God and turned away from evil.
He said to mankind, ‘The fear of the Lord #– #that is wisdom. And to turn from evil is understanding.’
The midwives, however, feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt had told them; they let the boys live.
The mouth of the righteous produces wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut out.
The Lord detests the way of the wicked, but he loves the one who pursues righteousness.
Pride comes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.
