Yes, the light  of the wicked  is extinguished; the flame of his fire does not glow.


The light in his tent grows dark, and the lamp beside him is put out.


The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable to the  Lord, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.


The sacrifice of a wicked person is detestable  – how much more so when he brings it with ulterior motives!


For the evil have no future; the lamp of the wicked will be put out.


There is a generation #– #how haughty its eyes and pretentious its looks.


The Lord hates six things; in fact, seven are detestable to him:


arrogant eyes,  a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,


To fear the Lord is to hate evil. I hate arrogant pride, evil conduct, and perverse speech.


But when the Lord finishes all his work against Mount Zion and Jerusalem, he will say, ‘I  will punish the king of Assyria for his arrogant acts and the proud look in his eyes.’


The pride of mankind  will be humbled, and human loftiness will be brought low; the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.

But whoever doubts stands condemned if he eats,  because his eating is not from faith,  and everything that is not from faith is sin.


In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. All of you clothe yourselves with  humility towards one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.   ,
