Why was no one there when I came? Why was there no one to answer when I called? Is my arm too weak to redeem? Or do I have no power to rescue? Look, I dry up the sea by my rebuke; I turn the rivers into a wilderness; their fish rot because of lack of water and die of thirst.

Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the  Lord   been revealed?

Since I have made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples,

I spread out my hands all day long to a rebellious people who walk in the path that is not good, following their own thoughts.

All things have been entrusted to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son desires   to reveal him.

‘Jerusalem, Jerusalem,   who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks   under her wings, but you were not willing!

All things have   been entrusted to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son desires   to reveal him.’

He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.

No one has ever seen God. The one and only  Son, who is himself God and is at the Father’s  side   #– #he has revealed him.

For I have not spoken on my own, but the Father   himself who sent me has given me a command to say everything I have said.

The one who doesn’t love me will not keep my words. The word that you hear is not mine but is from the Father who sent me.

If I have told you about earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?

No one has ascended   into heaven   except the one who descended from heaven   #– #the Son of Man.   ,

Jesus replied, ‘Truly I tell you, unless someone is born again,   , he cannot see the kingdom of God.’

Jesus answered, ‘Truly I tell you, unless someone is born   of water and the Spirit,   he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

I have come in my Father’s name,   and yet you don’t accept me.   If someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.

Jesus answered them, ‘My teaching isn’t mine but is from the one who sent me.

‘Even if I testify about myself,’ Jesus replied, ‘my testimony is true, because I know where I came from and where I’m going. But you don’t know where I come from or where I’m going.

‘I have many things to say and to judge about you, but the one who sent me   is true, and what I have heard from him #– #these things I tell the world.’

I speak what I have seen   in the presence of the Father;   , so then, you do what you have heard from your father.’

and saw him telling me, “Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about me.”
