The righteousness of the blameless clears his path, but the wicked person will fall because of his wickedness.
The wicked one is thrown down by his own sin, but the righteous one has a refuge in his death.
Though a righteous person falls seven times, he will get up, but the wicked will stumble into ruin.
There is a generation #– #how haughty its eyes and pretentious its looks.
For Jerusalem has stumbled and Judah has fallen because they have spoken and acted against the Lord, defying his glorious presence.
The look on their faces testifies against them, and like Sodom, they flaunt their sin; they do not conceal it. Woe to them, for they have brought disaster on themselves.
