Psalm 58

¹ You judges are not being fair\par in your decisions.\par You are not judging people fairly.\par

² No, you only think of evil things to do.\par You do violent crimes in this country.\par

³ Those evil men started doing wrong\par as soon as they were born.\par They have been liars from birth.\par

⁴ Their anger is as dangerous\par as snake venom. {\cf2\super [341]} \par And, like cobras that can’t hear,\par they refuse to listen to the truth.\par

⁵ Cobras can’t hear the music or songs\par of snake charmers.\par And those evil people are like that\par as they make their evil plans. {\cf2\super [342]} \par

⁶ Lord, those people are like lions.\par So Lord, break their teeth.\par

⁷ May those people disappear\par like water down a drain.\par May they be crushed like weeds\par on a path. {\cf2\super [343]} \par

⁸ May they be like snails melting away\par as they move.\par May they be like a baby\par that was born dead\par and never saw the light of day.\par

⁹ May they be destroyed quickly like thorns\par that burn too fast to heat the pot.\par

¹⁰ A good man will be happy\par when he sees evil people punished\par for the bad things they did to him.\par He will be like a soldier\par who defeated all his enemies! {\cf2\super [344]} \par

¹¹ When that happens, people will say:\par “Good people really are rewarded.\par There really is a God\par judging the world!” {\cf2\super [345]} \par
