¹ God, be merciful to me.\par Be kind because my soul trusts you.\par I have come to you for protection,\par while the trouble passes.\par

² I pray to God Most High for help.\par And God takes care of me completely!\par

³ From heaven he helps me and saves me.\par He defeats the people who bother me.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [336]})\i0 \par

⁴ My life is in danger.\par My enemies are all around me.\par They are like man-eating lions,\par with teeth as sharp as spears\par and arrows,\par and tongues as sharp as a sword.\par

⁵ God, you are high above the heavens.\par Your glory covers the earth.\par

⁶ My enemies set a trap for me.\par They are trying to trap me.\par They dug a deep pit for me to fall into.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [337]})\i0 \par

⁷ But God will keep me safe.\par He will keep me brave.\par I will sing praises to him.\par

⁸ Wake up, my soul!\par Harps and lyres, {\cf2\super [338]} begin your music!\par Let’s wake the Dawn.\par

⁹ My Master, I praise you to everyone.\par I sing songs of praise about you to every nation.\par

¹⁰ Your true love is higher\par than the highest clouds in the sky!\par
