1 In the past God spoke to our people through the prophets. {\cf2\super [1]} God spoke to them many times and in many different ways. 2 And now in these last days God has spoken to us again. God has spoken to us through his Son. God made the whole world through his Son. And God has chosen his Son to have all things. 3 The Son shows the glory of God. He is a perfect copy of God’s nature. The Son holds everything together with his powerful command. The Son made people clean from their sins. Then he sat down at the right side {\cf2\super [2]} of the Great One (God) in heaven. 4 God gave him a name that is a much greater name than any of the angels have. And he became that much greater than the angels. 5 God never said these things to any of the angels: 6 And when God brings his firstborn {\cf2\super [3]} Son into the world, he says, 7 This is what God said about the angels: 8 But God said this about his Son: 9 You love the right,\par and you hate the wrong.\par So God, your God, has given you\par a greater joy than he gave the people with you.”\par \i (Psalm 45:6-7)\i0 \par 10 God also says, 11 These things will disappear, but you will stay.\par All things will become old like clothes.\par 12 You will fold them like a coat.\par And they will be changed like clothes.\par But you never change.\par And your life will never end.”\par \i (Psalm 102:25-27)\i0 \par 13 And God never said this to an angel: 14 All the angels are spirits who serve God and are sent to help those people who will receive salvation. |
