In that daythere will be nolight;the luminarieswill dwindle.
Lightarisesin the darknessfor the upright;[He is] graciousand compassionateand righteous.
For the starsof heavenand their constellationsWill not flashforththeir light;The sunwill be darkwhen it risesAnd the moonwill not shedits light.
Then the moonwill be abashedand the sunashamed,For the LORDof hostswill reignon MountZionand in Jerusalem,And [His] glorywill be beforeHis elders.
Whois among you that fearsthe LORD,That obeysthe voiceof His servant,That walksin darknessand hasnolight?Let him trustin the nameof the LORDand relyon his God.
I lookedon the earth,and behold,[it was] formlessand void;And to the heavens,and they hadnolight.
"And when [I] extinguishyou, I will coverthe heavensand darkentheir stars;I will coverthe sunwith a cloudAnd the moonwill not giveits light.
"Allthe shininglightsin the heavensI will darkenoveryou And will setdarknesson your land,"Declaresthe LordGOD.
"So let us know,let us presson to knowthe LORD.His goingforthis as certainas the dawn;And He will cometo us like the rain,Like the springrainwateringthe earth."
A dayof darknessand gloom,A dayof cloudsand thickdarkness.As the dawnis spreadoverthe mountains,[So] there is a greatand mightypeople;There has neverbeen[anything] likeit, Norwill there be againafterit To the yearsof manygenerations.
"I will displaywondersin the skyand on the earth,Blood,fireand columnsof smoke.
"The sunwill be turnedinto darknessAnd the mooninto bloodBeforethe greatand awesomedayof the LORDcomes.
The Lightshinesin the darkness,and the darknessdid not comprehendit.
"I have come[as] Lightinto the world,sothat everyonewho believesin Me will not remainin darkness.
but thisis what was spokenof throughthe prophetJoel:
AND I WILL GRANTWONDERSIN THE SKYABOVEAND SIGNSON THE EARTHBELOW,BLOOD,AND FIRE,AND VAPOROF SMOKE.
giving thanksto the Father,who has qualifiedus to sharein the inheritanceof the saintsin Light.
[So] we havethe propheticword[made] more sure,to whichyou dowellto pay attentionas to a lampshiningin a darkplace,untilthe daydawnsand the morning stararisesin your hearts.
Thenthe seventhangelsounded;and there were loudvoicesin heaven,saying,"The kingdomof the worldhas become[the kingdom] of our Lordand of His Christ;and He will reignforeverand ever."
"And I will grant[authority] to my twowitnesses,and they will prophesyfor twelvehundredand sixtydays,clothedin sackcloth."
