Then Mordecaiwentout from the presenceof the kingin royalrobesof blueand white,with a largecrownof goldand a garmentof finelinenand purple;and the cityof Susashoutedand rejoiced.
When the Almightyscatteredthe kingsthere, It was snowingin Zalmon.
Let your clothesbe whiteallthe time,and let not oilbe lackingon your head.
Unlessthe LORDof hostsHad leftus a fewsurvivors,We would be like Sodom,We would be likeGomorrah.
Awake,awake,Clotheyourselfin your strength,O Zion;Clotheyourselfin your beautifulgarments,O Jerusalem,the holycity;For the uncircumcisedand the uncleanWill nolongercomeinto you.
Their webswill not becomeclothing,Norwill they coverthemselves with their works;Their worksare worksof iniquity,And an actof violenceis in their hands.
I will rejoicegreatlyin the LORD,My soulwill exultin my God;For He has clothedme with garmentsof salvation,He has wrappedme with a robeof righteousness,As a bridegroomdeckshimself with a garland,And as a brideadornsherself with her jewels.
To grantthose who mourn[in] Zion,Givingthem a garlandinsteadof ashes,The oilof gladnessinsteadof mourning,The mantleof praiseinsteadof a spiritof fainting.So they will be calledoaksof righteousness,The plantingof the LORD,that He may be glorified.
For allof us have becomelike one who is unclean,And allour righteousdeedsare like a filthygarment;And allof us witherlike a leaf,And our iniquities,like the wind,takeus away.
whetherin warporwoof,of linenorof wool,whetherin leatherorin anyarticlemadeof leather,
"And whatevercityorvillageyou enter,inquirewhois worthyin it, and stayat his houseuntilyou leave[that city].
Enteringthe tomb,they sawa young mansittingat the right,wearinga whiterobe;and they were amazed.
but thosewho are considered worthyto attainto that ageand the resurrectionfrom the dead,neithermarrynorare given in marriage;
"But keep on the alertat alltimes,prayingthat you may have strengthto escapeallthese thingsthat are aboutto take place,and to standbeforethe Sonof Man."
At thistimePeterstoodup in the midstof the brethren(a gatheringof aboutone hundredand twentypersonswas there together),and said,
[This is] a plain indicationof God'srighteousjudgmentsothat you will be considered worthyof the kingdomof God,for whichindeedyou are suffering.
saveothers, snatchingthem out of the fire;and on somehave mercywith fear,hatingeventhe garmentpollutedby the flesh.
saying,"Writein a bookwhatyou see,and send[it] to the sevenchurches:to Ephesusand to Smyrnaand to Pergamumand to Thyatiraand to Sardisand to Philadelphiaand to Laodicea."
And in that hourthere was a greatearthquake,and a tenthof the cityfell;seventhousandpeoplewere killedin the earthquake,and the restwere terrifiedand gavegloryto the Godof heaven.
Theseare the ones who have not been defiledwith women,for they have kept themselveschaste.These[are] the ones who followthe LambwhereverHe goes.Thesehave been purchasedfrom amongmenas first fruitsto Godand to the Lamb.
And the armieswhich are in heaven,clothedin fine linen,white[and] clean,were followingHim on whitehorses.
It was givento her to clotheherself in finelinen,bright[and] clean;for the fine linenis the righteous actsof the saints.
I adviseyou to buyfrom Me goldrefinedby firesothat you may become rich,and whitegarmentssothat you may clotheyourself, and [that] the shameof your nakednesswill not be revealed;and eye salveto anointyour eyessothat you may see.
He who overcomeswill thusbe clothedin whitegarments;and I will not erasehis namefrom the bookof life,and I will confesshis namebeforeMy Fatherand beforeHis angels.
Aroundthe throne[were] twenty-fourthrones;and upon the thrones[I saw] twenty-fourelderssitting,clothedin whitegarments,and goldencrownson their heads.
And there was givento eachof them a whiterobe;and they were toldthat they should restfor a littlewhilelonger,until[the number of] their fellow servantsand their brethrenwho were to be killedevenas they had been, would be completedalso.
Afterthese thingsI looked,and behold,a greatmultitudewhichno onecouldcount,from everynationand [all] tribesand peoplesand tongues,standingbeforethe throneand beforethe Lamb,clothedin whiterobes,and palm branches[were] in their hands;
