O LORD,by Your favorYou have made my mountainto standstrong; You hidYour face,I was dismayed.
You have grantedme lifeand lovingkindness; And Your carehas preservedmy spirit.
Why do You standafaroff, O LORD?Why do You hide[Yourself] in timesof trouble?
Becauseof Your indignationand Your wrath,For You have liftedme up and castme away.
You hideYour face, they are dismayed; You takeawaytheir spirit, they expireAnd returnto their dust.
Answerme quickly,O LORD,my spiritfails;Do not hideYour facefrom me, Or I will becomelikethose who godownto the pit.
For His angeris but for a moment,His favoris for a lifetime;Weepingmay lastfor the night,But a shoutof joy[comes] in the morning.
He broughtme up out of the pitof destruction, out of the miryclay,And He setmy feetupon a rockmakingmy footstepsfirm.
For by their own swordthey did not possessthe land,And their own armdid not savethem, But Your righthandand Your armand the lightof Your presence,For You favoredthem.
For it is You who blessesthe righteousman,O LORD,You surroundhim with favoras with a shield.
For You are the gloryof their strength,And by Your favorour hornis exalted.
"Lo,for [my own] welfareI hadgreatbitterness; It is You who has keptmy soulfrom the pitof nothingness,For You have castallmy sinsbehindYour back.
"Then My angerwill be kindledagainst them in that day,and I will forsakethem and hideMy facefrom them, and they will be consumed, and manyevilsand troubleswill comeupon them; so that they will sayin that day,Is it not becauseour Godis not amongus that theseevilshave comeupon us?'
