The LORDlovesthe gatesof ZionMorethanallthe [other] dwellingplacesof Jacob.
His tabernacleis in Salem;His dwellingplacealso is in Zion.
"I have surelybuiltYou a loftyhouse,A placefor Your dwellingforever."
"The LORDyour Godis in your midst,A victoriouswarrior.He will exultoveryou with joy,He will be quietin His love,He will rejoiceoveryou with shoutsof joy.
Behold,I and the childrenwhomthe LORDhas givenme are for signsand wondersin Israelfrom the LORDof hosts,who dwellson MountZion.
You have ascendedon high,You have ledcaptive[Your] captives;You have receivedgiftsamong men,Even [among] the rebelliousalso,that the LORDGodmay dwell[there].
in whomyou alsoare being built togetherinto a dwellingof Godin the Spirit.
"And whoeverswearsby the temple,swears[both] by the templeand by Him who dwells withinit.
Thussaysthe LORD,"Heavenis My throneand the earthis My footstool.Wherethenis a houseyou could buildfor Me? And whereis a placethat I may rest?
For thussaysthe highand exaltedOne Who livesforever,whose nameis Holy,"I dwell[on] a highand holyplace, And [also] with the contriteand lowlyof spiritIn order to revivethe spiritof the lowlyAnd to revivethe heartof the contrite.
Then in that dayThe nationswill resortto the rootof Jesse,Whowill standas a signalfor the peoples;And His restingplacewill be glorious.
And the cityhasnoneedof the sunorof the moonto shineon it, for the gloryof Godhas illuminedit, and its lamp[is] the Lamb.
But you have cometo MountZionand to the cityof the livingGod,the heavenlyJerusalem,and to myriadsof angels,
And I will avengetheir bloodwhich I have not avenged,For the LORDdwellsin Zion.
Whydo you lookwith envy,O mountainswith [many] peaks,At the mountainwhich Godhas desiredfor His abode?Surelythe LORDwill dwell[there] forever.
"But will Godindeeddwellon the earth?Behold,heavenand the highestheavencannotcontainYou, howmuchlessthishousewhichI have built!
The LORDsaidto him, "I have heardyour prayerand your supplication,whichyou have madebeforeMe; I have consecratedthishousewhichyou have builtby puttingMy namethereforever,and My eyesand My heartwill be thereperpetually.
For Davidsaid,"The LORDGodof Israelhas givenrestto His people,and He dwellsin Jerusalemforever.
