And winewhich makesman'sheartglad,So that he may make [his] faceglistenwith oil,And foodwhich sustainsman'sheart.
and I will bringa pieceof bread,that you may refreshyourselves;afterthat you may goon, sinceyou have visitedyour servant."And they said,"Sodo,as you have said."
Absalomcommandedhis servants,saying,"Seenow,when Amnon'sheartis merrywith wine,and when I sayto you, 'StrikeAmnon,'then puthim to death.Do not fear;have not I myselfcommandedyou? Be courageousand be valiant."
And He calledfor a famineupon the land;He brokethe wholestaffof bread.
You preparea tablebeforeme in the presenceof my enemies;You have anointedmy headwith oil;My cupoverflows.
But You have exaltedmy hornlike [that of] the wildox;I have been anointedwith freshoil.
Givestrongdrinkto him who is perishing,And wineto him whose lifeis bitter.
Let him drinkand forgethis povertyAnd rememberhis troublenomore.
[Men] preparea mealfor enjoyment,and winemakeslifemerry,and moneyis the answerto everything.
Whois like the wisemanand whoknowsthe interpretationof a matter?A man'swisdomillumineshim and causes his sternfaceto beam.
Go[then], eatyour breadin happinessand drinkyour winewith a cheerfulheart;for Godhas alreadyapprovedyour works.
For behold,the LordGODof hostsis going to removefrom Jerusalemand JudahBoth supplyand support,the wholesupplyof breadAnd the wholesupplyof water;
"For as the rainand the snowcomedownfrom heaven,And do not returntherewithoutwateringthe earthAnd making it bearand sprout,And furnishingseedto the sowerand breadto the eater;
"They will comeand shoutfor joyon the heightof Zion,And they will be radiantoverthe bountyof the LORD--Overthe grainand the newwineand the oil,And overthe youngof the flockand the herd;And their lifewill be like a wateredgarden,And they will neverlanguishagain.
"Sonof man,ifa countrysinsagainst Me by committingunfaithfulness,and I stretchout My handagainstit, destroyits supplyof bread,sendfamineagainst it and cutofffrom it both manand beast,
Moreover, He saidto me, "Sonof man,behold,I am going to breakthe staffof breadin Jerusalem,and they will eatbreadby weightand with anxiety,and drinkwaterby measureand in horror,
When I sendagainst them the deadlyarrowsof faminewhichwere for the destructionof those whomI will sendto destroyyou, then I will also intensifythe famineupon you and breakthe staffof bread.
When I breakyour staffof bread,tenwomenwill bakeyour breadin oneoven,and they will bringbackyour breadin rationedamounts,so that you will eatand not be satisfied.
"Ephraimwill be like a mightyman,And their heartwill be gladas if[from] wine;Indeed, their childrenwill see[it] and be glad,Their heartwill rejoicein the LORD.
And when He had takena cup[and] given thanks,He gave[it] to them, and they alldrankfrom it.
"You did not anointMy headwith oil,but she anointedMy feetwith perfume.
And do not get drunkwith wine,for that is dissipation,but be filledwith the Spirit,
"You shall haveolivetreesthroughoutyour territorybut you will not anointyourself with the oil,for your oliveswill dropoff.
"He humbledyou and let you be hungry,and fedyou with mannawhichyou did not know,nordid your fathersknow,that He might make you understandthat mandoes not liveby breadalone,but manlivesby everythingthat proceedsout of the mouthof the LORD.
"YOU HAVE LOVEDRIGHTEOUSNESSAND HATEDLAWLESSNESS;THEREFOREGOD,YOUR GOD,HAS ANOINTEDYOU WITH THE OILOF GLADNESSABOVEYOUR COMPANIONS."
But you havean anointingfrom the Holy One,and you allknow.
Now on the fourthdaythey gotup earlyin the morning,and he preparedto go;and the girl'sfathersaidto his son-in-law,"Sustainyourselfwith a pieceof bread,and afterwardyou may go."
"But the vinesaidto them, 'Shall I leavemy newwine,which cheersGodand men,and goto waveoverthe trees?'
"But the olivetreesaidto them, 'Shall I leavemy fatnesswith whichGodand menare honored,and goto waveoverthe trees?'
