The one who commitsadulterywith a womanis lackingsense;He who would destroyhimselfdoesit.
"Howlong,O naiveones,will you lovebeing simple-minded?And scoffersdelightthemselves in scoffingAnd foolshateknowledge?
Jesus said,"Are you stilllacking in understandingalso?
"For My peopleare foolish,They knowMe not; They are stupidchildrenAnd havenounderstanding.They are shrewdto doevil,But to dogoodthey do not know."
On the lipsof the discerning,wisdomis found,But a rodis for the backof him wholacksunderstanding.
"Whoeveris naive,let him turnin here,"And to him wholacksunderstandingshe says,
"Whoeveris naive,let him turnin here!"To him wholacksunderstandingshe says,
"O naiveones,understandprudence;And, O fools,understandwisdom.
"For the waywardnessof the naivewill killthem, And the complacencyof foolswill destroythem.
To giveprudenceto the naive,To the youthknowledgeand discretion,
The unfoldingof Your wordsgiveslight;It givesunderstandingto the simple.
A prudentmanseesevil[and] hideshimself, The naiveproceed[and] paythe penalty.
I passedby the fieldof the sluggardAnd by the vineyardof the manlackingsense,
The prudentseesthe eviland hideshimself, But the naivegoon, and are punishedfor it.
Strikea scofferand the naivemay becomeshrewd,But reproveone who hasunderstandingand he will gainknowledge.
Alsoit is not goodfor a personto be withoutknowledge,And he who hurrieshis footstepserrs.
The naiveinheritfoolishness,But the sensibleare crownedwith knowledge.
The naivebelieveseverything,But the sensiblemanconsidershis steps.
He who tillshis landwill haveplentyof bread,But he who pursuesworthless[things] lackssense.
The lawof the LORDis perfect,restoringthe soul;The testimonyof the LORDis sure,makingwisethe simple.
"The eyeof the adultererwaitsfor the twilight,Saying,'Noeyewill seeme.' And he disguiseshis face.
My son,giveattentionto my wisdom,Inclineyour earto my understanding;
My son,observethe commandmentof your fatherAnd do not forsakethe teachingof your mother;
