Whenyou liedown,you will not be afraid;When you liedown,your sleepwill be sweet.
So the kingdomof Jehoshaphatwas at peace,for his Godgavehim reston allsides.
"You would liedownand nonewould disturb[you], And manywould entreatyour favor.
His heartis upheld,he will not fear,Untilhe looks[with satisfaction] on his adversaries.
It is vainfor you to riseup early,To retirelate,To eatthe breadof painfullabors;For He givesto His beloved[even in his] sleep.
I laydownand slept;I awoke,for the LORDsustainsme.
I will not be afraidof tenthousandsof peopleWhohave setthemselves againstme roundabout.
In peaceI will bothliedownand sleep,For You alone,O LORD,make me to dwellin safety.
You will not be afraidof the terrorby night,Or of the arrowthat fliesby day;
"But he who listensto me shall livesecurelyAnd will be at easefrom the dreadof evil."
The fearof the LORD[leads] to life,So that one may sleepsatisfied,untouchedby evil.
When you walkabout, they will guideyou; When you sleep,they will watchoveryou; And when you awake,they will talkto you.
The sleepof the workingman is pleasant,whetherhe eatslittleor much;but the fullstomachof the richmandoes not allowhim to sleep.
"In righteousnessyou will be established;You will be farfrom oppression,for you will not fear;And from terror,for it will not comenearyou.
At thisI awokeand looked,and my sleepwas pleasantto me.
"I will feedMy flockand I will leadthem to rest,"declaresthe LordGOD.
"I will makea covenantof peacewith them and eliminateharmfulbeastsfrom the landso that they may livesecurelyin the wildernessand sleepin the woods.
"Also the treeof the fieldwill yieldits fruitand the earthwill yieldits increase,and they will be secureon their land.Then they will knowthat I am the LORD,when I have brokenthe barsof their yokeand have deliveredthem from the handof those who enslavedthem.
I shall also grantpeacein the land,so that you may liedownwith noonemaking [you] tremble.I shall also eliminateharmfulbeastsfrom the land,and noswordwill passthroughyour land.
On the verynightwhenHerodwas aboutto bring him forward,Peterwas sleepingbetweentwosoldiers,boundwith twochains,and guardsin frontof the doorwere watching overthe prison.
