For the LORDgiveswisdom;From His mouth[come] knowledgeand understanding.
Allthe earthwas seekingthe presenceof Solomon,to hearhis wisdomwhichGodhad putin his heart.
behold,I have doneaccording to your words.Behold,I have givenyou a wiseand discerningheart,sothat there has beennoone likeyou beforeyou, norshall one likeyou ariseafteryou.
"So giveYour servantan understandingheartto judgeYour peopleto discernbetweengoodand evil.For whois ableto judgethisgreatpeopleof Yours?"
Now GodgaveSolomonwisdomand verygreatdiscernmentand breadthof mind,like the sandthat is on the seashore.
"Onlythe LORDgiveyou discretionand understanding,and giveyou chargeoverIsrael,so that you may keepthe lawof the LORDyour God.
"You, Ezra,according to the wisdomof your Godwhichis in your hand,appointmagistratesand judgesthat they may judgeallthe peoplewhoare in [the province] beyondthe River,[even] allthose who knowthe lawsof your God;and you may teachanyone whois ignorant[of them].
Then my Godputit into my heartto assemblethe nobles,the officialsand the peopleto be enrolledby genealogies.Then I foundthe bookof the genealogyof those who cameup firstin which I foundthe following record:
"With Him are wisdomand might;To Him belong counseland understanding.
"With Him are strengthand soundwisdom,The misledand the misleaderbelong to Him.
"Pleasereceiveinstructionfrom His mouthAnd establishHis wordsin your heart.
"But it is a spiritin man,And the breathof the Almightygivesthem understanding.
From Your preceptsI getunderstanding;ThereforeI hateeveryfalse~way.Nun.
Giveme understanding,that I may observeYour lawAnd keepit with all[my] heart.
Your commandmentsmakeme wiserthanmy enemies,For they are evermine.
The lawof the LORDis perfect,restoringthe soul;The testimonyof the LORDis sure,makingwisethe simple.
The preceptsof the LORDare right,rejoicingthe heart;The commandmentof the LORDis pure,enlighteningthe eyes.
Behold,You desiretruthin the innermostbeing,And in the hiddenpartYou will make me knowwisdom.
He who chastensthe nations,will He not rebuke,[Even] He who teachesmanknowledge?
"I have filledhim with the Spiritof Godin wisdom,in understanding,in knowledge,and in all[kinds of] craftsmanship,
For the commandmentis a lampand the teachingis light;And reproofsfor disciplineare the wayof life
For to a personwhois goodin His sightHe has givenwisdomand knowledgeand joy,while to the sinnerHe has giventhe taskof gatheringand collectingso that he may giveto onewhois goodin God'ssight.Thistoois vanityand strivingafter wind.
"Allyour sonswill be taughtof the LORD;And the well-beingof your sonswill be great.
To the lawand to the testimony!Ifthey do not speakaccording to thisword,it is becausethey havenodawn.
As for thesefouryouths,Godgavethem knowledgeand intelligencein every[branch of] literatureand wisdom;Danieleven understoodall[kinds of] visionsand dreams.
"It is He who changesthe timesand the epochs;He removeskingsand establisheskings;He giveswisdomto wisemenAnd knowledgeto men of understanding.
"To You, O Godof my fathers,I givethanksand praise,For You have givenme wisdomand power;Even nowYou have madeknownto me whatwe requestedof You, For You have madeknownto us the king'smatter."
for I will giveyou utteranceand wisdomwhichnoneof your opponentswill be ableto resistorrefute.
"It is writtenin the prophets,AND THEY SHALL ALLBE TAUGHTOF GOD.'Everyonewho has heardand learnedfrom the Father,comesto Me.
Everygoodthing givenand everyperfectgiftis from above,coming downfrom the Fatherof lights,with whomthereis novariationorshiftingshadow.
But ifanyof you lackswisdom,let him askof God,who givesto allgenerouslyand withoutreproach,and it will be givento him.
