The LORDwill teardownthe houseof the proud,But He will establishthe boundaryof the widow.
The LORDprotectsthe strangers;He supportsthe fatherlessand the widow,But He thwartsthe wayof the wicked.
Do not movethe ancientboundaryOr gointo the fieldsof the fatherless,
The houseof the wickedwill be destroyed,But the tentof the uprightwill flourish.
The wickedare overthrownand are nomore, But the houseof the righteouswill stand.
Pureand undefiledreligionin the sightof [our] Godand Fatheris this:to visitorphansand widowsin their distress,[and] to keeponeselfunstainedby the world.
"But whenhis heartwas liftedup and his spiritbecameso proudthat he behavedarrogantly,he was deposedfrom his royalthroneand [his] glorywas takenawayfrom him.
For the LORDof hostswill have a day[of reckoning] Againsteveryonewhois proudand loftyAnd againsteveryonewho is liftedup, That he may be abased.
For thoughthe LORDis exalted,Yet He regardsthe lowly,But the haughtyHe knowsfrom afar.
You younger men,likewise,be subjectto [your] elders;and allof you, clotheyourselves with humilitytoward one another,for GODIS OPPOSEDTO THE PROUD,BUT GIVESGRACETO THE HUMBLE.
But Godwill breakyou downforever;He will snatchyou up and tearyou awayfrom [your] tent,And uprootyou from the landof the living.Selah.
"You shall not moveyour neighbor'sboundarymark, whichthe ancestorshave set,in your inheritancewhichyou will inheritin the landthat the LORDyour Godgivesyou to possess.
Whydo you boastin evil,O mightyman?The lovingkindnessof God[endures] alldaylong.
Evilplansare an abominationto the LORD,But pleasantwordsare pure.
"He wrongsthe barrenwomanAnd doesnogoodfor the widow.
You have seen[it], for You have beheldmischiefand vexationto takeit into Your hand.The unfortunatecommits[himself] to You; You have beenthe helperof the orphan.
Learnto dogood;Seekjustice,Reprovethe ruthless,Defendthe orphan,Pleadfor the widow.
They are fat,they are sleek,They alsoexcelin deedsof wickedness;They do not pleadthe cause,The causeof the orphan,that they may prosper;And they do not defendthe rightsof the poor.
