The priestshall then have the womanstandbeforethe LORDand let[the hair of] the woman'sheadgoloose,and placethe grain offeringof memorialin her hands,whichis the grain offeringof jealousy,and in the handof the priestis to be the waterof bitternessthat bringsa curse.
But in the endshe is bitteras wormwood,Sharpas a two-edgedsword.
And I discoveredmorebitterthandeaththe womanwhoseheartis snaresand nets,whose handsare chains.Onewhois pleasingto Godwill escapefrom her, but the sinnerwill be capturedby her.
"Lo,for [my own] welfareI hadgreatbitterness;It is You who has keptmy soulfrom the pitof nothingness,For You have castallmy sinsbehindYour back.
"Your own wickednesswill correctyou, And your apostasieswill reproveyou; Knowtherefore and seethat it is eviland bitterFor you to forsakethe LORDyour God,And the dreadof Me is not in you," declaresthe LordGODof hosts.
"As for the leperwhohas the infection,his clothesshall be torn,and the hair of his headshall be uncovered,and he shall coverhis mustacheand cry,Unclean!Unclean!'
the manshall then bringhis wifeto the priest,and shall bring[as] an offeringfor her one-tenthof an ephahof barleymeal;he shall not pouroilon it norputfrankincenseon it, for it is a grain offeringof jealousy,a grain offeringof memorial,a reminderof iniquity.
and the priestshall takeholywaterin an earthenwarevessel;and he shall takesomeof the dustthat is on the floorof the tabernacleand put[it] into the water.
The priestshall have her takean oathand shall sayto the woman,"Ifnomanhas lainwith you and ifyou have not goneastrayinto uncleanness,[being] under[the authority of] your husband,be immuneto thiswaterof bitternessthat bringsa curse;
and thiswaterthat bringsa curseshall gointo your stomach,and make your abdomenswelland your thighwasteaway."And the womanshall say,"Amen.Amen."
but ifa womanhas long hair,it is a gloryto her? For her hairis givento her for a covering.
For ifa womandoes not coverher head, let her alsohave her haircut off;but ifit is disgracefulfor a womanto have her hair cut offorher head shaved,let her coverher head.
sothat therewill not be among you a manorwoman,orfamilyortribe,whoseheartturnsawaytodayfrom the LORDour God,to goand servethe godsof thosenations;that therewill not be among you a rootbearingpoisonousfruitand wormwood.
Marriage[is to be held] in honoramongall,and the [marriage] bed[is to be] undefiled;for fornicatorsand adulterersGodwill judge.
Then Samuelsaid,"Bringme Agag,the kingof the Amalekites."And Agagcameto him cheerfully.And Agagsaid,"Surelythe bitternessof deathis past."
