He alsorebelledagainst KingNebuchadnezzarwhohad made him swear[allegiance] by God.But he stiffenedhis neckand hardenedhis heartagainstturningto the LORDGodof Israel.
"Offerto Goda sacrificeof thanksgivingAnd payyour vowsto the MostHigh;
"Speakto the sonsof Israeland sayto them, 'Whena manmakesa difficultvow,he [shall be valued] according to your valuationof personsbelonging to the LORD.
"Ifa manmakesa vowto the LORD,ortakesan oathto bindhimselfwith a bindingobligation,he shall not violatehis word;he shall doaccording to allthat proceedsout of his mouth.
and her fatherhearsher vowand her obligationby whichshe has boundherself,and her fathersaysnothingto her, then allher vowsshall standand everyobligationby whichshe has boundherselfshall stand.

She madea vowand said,"O LORDof hosts,ifYou will indeedlookon the afflictionof Your maidservantand rememberme, and not forgetYour maidservant,but will giveYour maidservanta son,then I will givehim to the LORDallthe daysof his life,and a razorshall nevercomeon his head."
