So they and allthat belonged to them wentdownaliveto Sheol;and the earthclosedoverthem, and they perishedfrom the midstof the assembly.
As when one plowsand breaksopenthe earth,Our boneshave been scatteredat the mouthof Sheol.
Answerme quickly,O LORD,my spiritfails;Do not hideYour facefrom me, Or I will becomelikethose who godownto the pit.
Let deathcomedeceitfullyupon them; Let them godownaliveto Sheol,For evilis in their dwelling,in their midst.
As for me, I shall callupon God,And the LORDwill saveme.
But You, O God,will bringthem downto the pitof destruction;Menof bloodshedand deceitwill not liveout halftheir days.But I will trustin You.
May the floodof waternot overflowme Northe deepswallowme up, Northe pitshutits mouthon me.
The nationshave sunkdownin the pitwhich they have made;In the netwhichthey hid,their own foothas been caught.
"Neverthelessyou will be thrustdownto Sheol,To the recessesof the pit.
"Sheolfrom beneathis excitedover you to meetyou when you come;It arousesfor you the spiritsof the dead,allthe leadersof the earth;It raisesallthe kingsof the nationsfrom their thrones.
"For SheolcannotthankYou, Deathcannot praiseYou; Those who godownto the pitcannothopefor Your faithfulness.
sothat allthe treesby the watersmay not be exaltedin their stature,norsettheir topamongthe clouds,northeir well-wateredmightyones stand[erect] in their height.For they have allbeen givenover to death,to the earthbeneath,amongthe sonsof men,with those who godownto the pit."
"Sonof man,wailfor the hordesof Egyptand bringit down,her and the daughtersof the powerfulnations,to the netherworld,with those who godownto the pit;
"Therealso are the chiefsof the north,allof them, and allthe Sidonians,whoin spite of the terrorresulting from their might,in shamewentdownwith the slain.So they laydownuncircumcisedwith those slainby the swordand boretheir disgracewith those who godownto the pit.
and the earthopenedits mouthand swallowedthem up, and their households,and allthe menwhobelonged to Korahwith [their] possessions.
AllIsraelwho[were] aroundthem fledat their outcry,for they said,"The earthmay swallowus up!"
"But the donkeysawme and turnedasidefrom me thesethreetimes.Ifshe had not turnedasidefrom me, I would surelyhave killedyou just now,and let her live."
The sonsof Korah,however, did not die.
For a fireis kindledin My anger,And burnsto the lowestpartof Sheol,And consumesthe earthwith its yield,And setson firethe foundationsof the mountains.
Woeto them! For they have gonethe wayof Cain,and for paythey have rushed headlonginto the errorof Balaam,and perishedin the rebellionof Korah.
