"You will eat,but you will not be satisfied,And your vilenesswill be in your midst.You will [try to] remove[for safekeeping], But you will not preserve[anything], And whatyou do preserveI will giveto the sword.
The oracleconcerning the beastsof the Negev.Through a landof distressand anguish,From where[come] lionessand lion,viperand flyingserpent,They carrytheir richeson the backsof youngdonkeysAnd their treasureson camels'humps,To a peoplewho cannotprofit[them];
Therefore,thussaysthe LordGOD,"Behold,My servantswill eat,but you will be hungry.Behold,My servantswill drink,but you will be thirsty.Behold,My servantswill rejoice,but you will be putto shame.
They sliceoff[what is] on the righthandbut [still] are hungry,And they eat[what is] on the lefthandbut they are not satisfied;Eachof them eatsthe fleshof his own arm.
"The one who fleesfrom the terrorWill fallinto the pit,And the one who climbsup out of the pitWill be caughtin the snare;For I shall bringupon her, [even] upon Moab,The yearof their punishment,"declaresthe LORD.
Onethirdof you will dieby plagueor be consumedby famineamongyou, onethirdwill fallby the swordaroundyou, and onethirdI will scatterto everywind,and I will unsheathea swordbehindthem.
They will eat,but not haveenough;They will playthe harlot,but not increase,Becausethey have stoppedgivingheedto the LORD.
When I breakyour staffof bread,tenwomenwill bakeyour breadin oneoven,and they will bringbackyour breadin rationedamounts,so that you will eatand not be satisfied.
"You have sownmuch,but harvestlittle;[you] eat,but [there is] not [enough] to be satisfied;[you] drink,but [there is] not [enough] to becomedrunk;[you] puton clothing,but nooneis warm[enough]; and he who earns,earnswages[to put] into a pursewith holes."
from that time[when] one cameto a [grain] heapof twenty[measures], there would be only ten;and [when] one cameto the winevatto drawfiftymeasures,there would be [only] twenty.
