and they boundHim, and led Him awayand deliveredHim to Pilatethe governor.
Then they cameto the placeof whichGodhad toldhim; and Abrahambuiltthe altarthereand arrangedthe wood,and boundhis sonIsaacand laidhim on the altar,on topof the wood.
and will handHim over to the Gentilesto mockand scourgeand crucify[Him], and on the thirddayHe will be raisedup."
"And ifthisshould cometo the governor'sears,we will win him overand keepyou out of trouble."
Nowon the sameoccasionthere were somepresentwho reportedto Him aboutthe GalileanswhosebloodPilatehad mixedwith their sacrifices.
Sothey watchedHim, and sentspieswho pretendedto be righteous,in orderthat they might catchHim in some statement,sothat they [could] deliverHim to the ruleand the authorityof the governor.
Thenthe wholebodyof them gotup and broughtHim beforePilate.
NowHerodand Pilatebecamefriendswith one anotherthat veryday;for before they had beenenemieswith each other.
Nowin the fifteenthyearof the reignof TiberiusCaesar,when PontiusPilatewas governorof Judea,and Herodwas tetrarchof Galilee,and his brotherPhilipwas tetrarchof the regionof Ituraeaand Trachonitis,and Lysaniaswas tetrarchof Abilene,
Sothe [Roman] cohortand the commanderand the officersof the Jews,arrestedJesusand boundHim,
SoAnnassentHim boundto Caiaphasthe high priest.
Thenthey ledJesusfrom Caiaphasinto the Praetorium,and it was early;and they themselvesdid not enterinto the Praetoriumsothat they would not be defiled,but might eatthe Passover.
On the verynightwhenHerodwas aboutto bring him forward,Peterwas sleepingbetweentwosoldiers,boundwith twochains,and guardsin frontof the doorwere watching overthe prison.
Thenthe commandercameup and took holdof him, and orderedhim to be boundwith twochains;and he [began] askingwhohe was and whathe had done.
But whenthey stretchedhim out with thongs,Paulsaidto the centurionwho was standingby, "Is it lawfulfor you to scourgea manwho is a Romanand uncondemned?"
Thereforethosewho were aboutto examinehim immediatelylet goof him; and the commanderalsowas afraidwhen he foundout that he was a Roman,and becausehe had put him in chains.
But after two yearshad passed,Felixwas succeededby PorciusFestus,and wishingto dothe Jewsa favor,FelixleftPaulimprisoned.
"For thisreason,therefore,I requestedto seeyou and to speakwith you, for I am wearingthischainfor the sakeof the hopeof Israel."
"The Godof Abraham,Isaacand Jacob,the Godof our fathers,has glorifiedHis servantJesus,[the one] whomyou deliveredand disownedin the presenceof Pilate,when he had decidedto releaseHim.

I chargeyou in the presenceof God,who gives lifeto all things,and of ChristJesus,who testifiedthe goodconfessionbeforePontiusPilate,
for whichI suffer hardshipevento imprisonmentas a criminal;but the wordof Godis not imprisoned.
Rememberthe prisoners,as thoughin prisonwith them, [and] thosewho are ill-treated,sinceyou yourselvesalsoare in the body.
They saidto him, "We have comedownto bindyou so that we may giveyou into the handsof the Philistines."And Samsonsaidto them, "Swearto me that you will not killme."
