You shall not takevengeance,norbearany grudgeagainstthe sonsof your people,but you shall loveyour neighboras yourself; I am the LORD.
For this,"YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY,YOU SHALL NOT MURDER,YOU SHALL NOT STEAL,YOU SHALL NOT COVET,"and ifthere is anyothercommandment,it is summedup in thissaying,"YOU SHALL LOVEYOUR NEIGHBORAS YOURSELF."
For the wholeLawis fulfilledin oneword,in the [statement], "YOU SHALL LOVEYOUR NEIGHBORAS YOURSELF."
If,however,you are fulfillingthe royallawaccordingto the Scripture,"YOU SHALL LOVEYOUR NEIGHBORAS YOURSELF,"you are doingwell.
HONORYOUR FATHERAND MOTHER;and YOU SHALL LOVEYOUR NEIGHBORAS YOURSELF."
Nevertakeyour ownrevenge,beloved,but leaveroomfor the wrath[of God], for it is written,"VENGEANCEIS MINE,I WILL REPAY,"saysthe Lord.
Neverpay backevilfor evilto anyone.Respectwhat is rightin the sightof allmen.
But nowyou also,putthem allaside:anger,wrath,malice,slander,[and] abusive speechfrom your mouth.
Let allbitternessand wrathand angerand clamorand slanderbe put awayfrom you, alongwith allmalice.
Do not say,"I will repayevil";Waitfor the LORD,and He will saveyou.
Therefore,putting asideallmaliceand alldeceitand hypocrisyand envyand allslander,
For we knowHim who said,"VENGEANCEIS MINE,I WILL REPAY."And again,"THE LORDWILL JUDGEHIS PEOPLE."
And someonecameto Him and said,"Teacher,whatgood thingshall I dothat I may obtaineternallife?"
for it is a ministerof Godto you for good.But ifyou dowhatis evil,be afraid;for it does not bearthe swordfor nothing;for it is a ministerof God,an avengerwho brings wrathon the one who practicesevil.
Absalomcommandedhis servants,saying,"Seenow,when Amnon'sheartis merrywith wine,and when I sayto you, 'StrikeAmnon,'then puthim to death.Do not fear;have not I myselfcommandedyou? Be courageousand be valiant."

And thiscommandmentwe havefrom Him, that the one who lovesGodshould lovehis brotheralso.
