Micahthen saidto him, "Dwellwith me and be a fatherand a priestto me, and I will giveyou ten[pieces] of silvera year,a suitof clothes,and your maintenance."So the Levitewent[in].
"Now,therefore, it was not you who sentme here,but God;and He has mademe a fatherto Pharaohand lordof allhis householdand rulerover allthe landof Egypt.
When Elishabecamesickwith the illnessof whichhe was to die,Joashthe kingof Israelcamedownto him and weptoverhim and said,"My father,my father,the chariotsof Israeland its horsemen!"
Elishasaw[it] and criedout, "My father,my father,the chariotsof Israeland its horsemen!"And he sawElijah nomore.Then he tookholdof his own clothesand torethem in twopieces.
Then the kingof Israelwhen he sawthem, saidto Elisha,"My father,shall I killthem? Shall I killthem?"
"I was a fatherto the needy,And I investigatedthe casewhich I did not know.
And I will clothehim with your tunicAnd tieyour sashsecurelyabout him. I will entrusthim with your authority,And he will becomea fatherto the inhabitantsof Jerusalemand to the houseof Judah.
"For handfulsof barleyand fragmentsof bread,you have profanedMe to My peopleto putto deathsomewhoshould not dieand to keepothersalivewhoshould not live,by your lyingto My peoplewho listento lies."'"
and said,"Whatare you willingto giveme to betrayHim to you?" And they weighedout thirtypieces of silverto him.
Nowhe saidthis,not becausehe was concernedaboutthe poor,but becausehe was a thief,and as he hadthe money box,he used to pilferwhat was putinto it.
For the love of moneyis a rootof allsorts of evil,and someby longingfor it have wandered awayfrom the faithand piercedthemselveswith manygriefs.
shepherdthe flockof Godamongyou, exercising oversightnot under compulsion,but voluntarily,accordingto [the will of] God;and not for sordid gain,but with eagerness;
The Leviteagreedto livewith the man,and the youngmanbecameto him like oneof his sons.
Micahsaidto him, "Wheredo you comefrom?" And he saidto him, "I am a Levitefrom Bethlehemin Judah,and I am goingto staywhereverI may find[a place]."
He saidto them, "Thusand sohas Micahdoneto me, and he has hiredme and I havebecomehis priest."
Everyonewho is leftin your housewill comeand bowdownto him for a pieceof silveror a loafof breadand say,"Pleaseassignme to oneof the priest'sofficesso that I may eata pieceof bread."'"
