Nowwhen morningcame,allthe chief priestsand the eldersof the peopleconferredtogether againstJesusto put Him to death;
"But whenyou seeJerusalemsurroundedby armies,thenrecognizethat her desolationis near.
"Nowtherefore,you and the Councilnotifythe commanderto bring him downto you, as thoughyou were goingto determinehis caseby a more thorough investigation;and we for our part are readyto slayhim beforehe comes near[the place]."

Now Samsonlayuntilmidnight,and at midnighthe aroseand tookholdof the doorsof the citygateand the twopostsand pulledthem up alongwith the bars;then he putthem on his shouldersand carriedthem up to the topof the mountainwhichis oppositeHebron.
Then Saulsentmessengersto David'shouseto watchhim, in order to puthim to deathin the morning.But Michal,David'swife,toldhim, saying,"Ifyou do not saveyour lifetonight,tomorrowyou will be putto death."
Saulwenton onesideof the mountain,and Davidand his menon the othersideof the mountain;and Davidwas hurryingto getawayfrom Saul,for Sauland his menwere surroundingDavidand his mento seizethem.
