AllIsraelwith their eldersand officersand their judgeswere standingon bothsidesof the arkbeforethe Leviticalpriestswho carriedthe arkof the covenantof the LORD,the strangeras well as the native.Halfof them [stood] in frontof MountGerizimand halfof them in frontof MountEbal,justas Mosesthe servantof the LORDhad givencommandat firstto blessthe peopleof Israel.
"The samelawshall applyto the nativeas to the strangerwho sojournsamongyou."
There shall be onestandardfor you; it shall be for the strangeras well as the native,for I am the LORDyour God.'"
[As for] the assembly,there shall be onestatutefor you and for the alienwho sojourns[with you], a perpetualstatutethroughout your generations;as you are, so shall the alienbe beforethe LORD.
There is to be onelawand oneordinancefor you and for the alienwho sojournswith you.'"
You shall haveonelawfor him who does[anything] unintentionally,for him who is nativeamong the sonsof Israeland for the alienwho sojournsamongthem.
"Our fathersworshipedin thismountain,and you [people] saythat in Jerusalemis the placewheremen oughtto worship."
"It shall comeabout, whenthe LORDyour Godbringsyou into the landwhereyou are enteringto possessit, that you shall placethe blessingon MountGerizimand the curseon MountEbal.
"Assemblethe people,the menand the womenand childrenand the alienwhois in your town,sothat they may hearand learnand fearthe LORDyour God,and be carefulto observeallthe wordsof thislaw.
that Mosescommandedthe Leviteswho carriedthe arkof the covenantof the LORD,saying,
So Moseswrotethislawand gaveit to the priests,the sonsof Leviwho carriedthe arkof the covenantof the LORD,and to allthe eldersof Israel.
that Joshuacalledfor allIsrael,for their eldersand their headsand their judgesand their officers,and saidto them, "I amold,advancedin years.
Then Joshuagatheredallthe tribesof Israelto Shechem,and calledfor the eldersof Israeland for their headsand their judgesand their officers;and they presentedthemselves beforeGod.
So when the peoplesetout from their tentsto crossthe Jordanwith the priestscarryingthe arkof the covenantbeforethe people,
and they commandedthe people,saying,"When you seethe arkof the covenantof the LORDyour Godwith the Leviticalpriestscarryingit, then you shall setout from your placeand goafterit.
And Joshuaspoketo the priests,saying,"Takeup the arkof the covenantand crossoveraheadof the people."So they tookup the arkof the covenantand wentaheadof the people.
For the priestswho carriedthe arkwere standingin the middleof the Jordanuntileverythingwas completedthat the LORDhad commandedJoshuato speakto the people,according to allthat Moseshad commandedJoshua.And the peoplehurriedand crossed;
It cameabout when the priestswho carriedthe arkof the covenantof the LORDhad comeup from the middleof the Jordan,and the solesof the priests'feetwere liftedup to the dryground,that the watersof the Jordanreturnedto their place,and wentoverallits banksas before.
So Joshuathe sonof Nuncalledthe priestsand saidto them, "Takeup the arkof the covenant,and let sevenpriestscarryseventrumpetsof rams'hornsbeforethe arkof the LORD."
