"Roamto and frothrough the streetsof Jerusalem,And looknowand takenote.And seekin her opensquares,Ifyou can finda man,Ifthereis one who doesjustice,who seekstruth,Then I will pardonher.
"I searchedfor a manamongthem who would buildup the walland standin the gapbeforeMe for the land,sothat I would not destroyit; but I foundnoone.
"For the eyesof the LORDmoveto and frothroughoutthe earththat He may stronglysupportthose whose heartis completelyHis. You have actedfoolishlyin this.Indeed,from nowon you will surely havewars."
Noonesuesrighteouslyand noonepleadshonestly.They trustin confusionand speaklies;They conceivemischiefand bringforthiniquity.
They have allturnedaside,togetherthey have becomecorrupt;Thereis noonewho doesgood,not evenone.
Manya manproclaimshis ownloyalty,But whocan finda trustworthyman?
Help,LORD,for the godlymanceasesto be, For the faithfuldisappearfrom among the sonsof men.
and with allthe deceptionof wickednessfor thosewho perish,becausethey did not receivethe loveof the truthsoas to be saved.
"And the slavecame[back] and reportedthisto his master.Thenthe head of the householdbecame angryand saidto his slave,'Goout at onceinto the streetsand lanesof the cityand bringin herethe poorand crippledand blindand lame.'
and saidto him, "Run,speakto that youngman,saying,Jerusalemwill be inhabitedwithoutwallsbecauseof the multitudeof menand cattlewithinit.
"People will staggerfrom seato seaAnd from the northeven to the east;They will goto and froto seekthe wordof the LORD,But they will not find[it].
They rushon the city,They runon the wall;They climbinto the houses,They enterthroughthe windowslike a thief.
"But as for you, Daniel,concealthese wordsand sealup the bookuntilthe endof time;manywill gobackand forth,and knowledgewill increase."
I must arisenowand goaboutthe city;In the streetsand in the squaresI must seekhim whommy soulloves.'I soughthim but did not findhim.
Buytruth,and do not sell[it], [Get] wisdomand instructionand understanding.
Besidethe gates,at the openingto the city,At the entranceof the doors,she criesout:
He said,"I have beenveryzealousfor the LORD,the Godof hosts;for the sonsof Israelhave forsakenYour covenant,torndownYour altarsand killedYour prophetswith the sword.And I aloneam left;and they seekmy life,to takeit away."
"Whydo you contendwith Me? You have alltransgressedagainst Me," declaresthe LORD.
Then allthe menwho were awarethat their wiveswere burningsacrificesto othergods,along with allthe womenwho were standingby, [as] a largeassembly,including allthe peoplewho were livingin Pathrosin the landof Egypt,respondedto Jeremiah,saying,
The LORDhas lookeddownfrom heavenupon the sonsof menTo seeif thereare anywho understand,Who seekafter God.
Whowill standup for me againstevildoers?Whowill takehis standfor me againstthose who dowickedness?
"I have listenedand heard,They have spokenwhatis not right;Nomanrepentedof his wickedness,Saying,'Whathave I done?'Everyoneturnedto his course,Like a horsecharginginto the battle.
Ohthat I hadin the desertA wayfarers'lodgingplace;That I might leavemy peopleAnd gofrom them! For allof them are adulterers,An assemblyof treacherousmen.
Thereforethussaysthe LORDof hosts,"Behold,I will refinethem and assaythem; For what[else] can I do,becauseof the daughterof My people?
Then He saidto me, "The iniquityof the houseof Israeland Judahis very,verygreat,and the landis filledwith bloodand the cityis fullof perversion;for they say,'The LORDhas forsakenthe land,and the LORDdoes not see!'
