But as soon as Jeremiah,whomthe LORDtheir Godhad sent,had finishedtellingallthe peopleallthe wordsof the LORDtheir God--that is, allthesewords--
Lotwentout and spoketo his sons-in-law,who were to marryhis daughters,and said,"Up, getout of thisplace,for the LORDwill destroythe city."But he appearedto his sons-in-lawto be jesting.
Then Mosescameand recountedto the peopleallthe wordsof the LORDand allthe ordinances;and allthe peopleansweredwith onevoiceand said,"Allthe wordswhichthe LORDhas spokenwe will do!"
"Now, girdup your loinsand arise,and speakto them allwhichI commandyou. Do not be dismayedbeforethem, orI will dismayyou beforethem.
But the LORDsaidto me, "Do not say,'I am a youth,'BecauseeverywhereI sendyou, you shall go,And allthat I commandyou, you shall speak.
"Thussaysthe LORD,Standin the courtof the LORD'Shouse,and speakto allthe citiesof Judahwho have cometo worship[in] the LORD'Shouseallthe wordsthat I have commandedyou to speakto them. Do not omita word!
When Jeremiahfinishedspeakingallthat the LORDhad commanded[him] to speakto allthe people,the priestsand the prophetsand allthe peopleseizedhim, saying,"You mustdie!
So I have toldyou today,but you have not obeyedthe LORDyour God,even in whateverHe has sentme to [tell] you.
Therefore you should nowclearlyunderstandthat you will dieby the sword,by famineand by pestilence,in the placewhereyou wishto goto reside.
They have liedabout the LORDAnd said,"Not He; Misfortunewill not comeon us, And we will not seeswordor famine.
"And as soon as you finishreadingthisscroll,you will tiea stoneto it and throwit into the middleof the Euphrates,
teachingthem to observeallthat I commandedyou; and lo,I amwith you always,evento the endof the age."
"For I did not shrinkfrom declaringto you the wholepurposeof God.
"Go,standand speakto the peoplein the templethe wholemessageof thisLife."
So Samuelspokeallthe wordsof the LORDto the peoplewho had askedof him a king.
