Then they will lookto the earth,and behold,distressand darkness,the gloomof anguish;and [they will be] drivenawayinto darkness.
"He is drivenfrom lightinto darkness,And chasedfrom the inhabitedworld.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Stretchout your handtowardthe sky,that there may be darknessoverthe landof Egypt,even a darknesswhich may be felt."
So Mosesstretchedout his handtowardthe sky,and there was thickdarknessin allthe landof Egyptfor threedays.
The wickedis thrustdownby his wrongdoing,But the righteoushasa refugewhen he dies.

And it will growloverit in that daylike the roaringof the sea.If one looksto the land,behold,there is darkness[and] distress;Even the lightis darkenedby its clouds.
Behold,allyou who kindlea fire,Who encircleyourselves with firebrands,Walkin the lightof your fireAnd among the brandsyou have setablaze.Thisyou will havefrom My hand:You will liedownin torment.
"I clothethe heavenswith blacknessAnd makesackcloththeir covering."
Thereforejusticeis farfrom us, And righteousnessdoes not overtakeus; We hopefor light,but behold,darkness,For brightness,but we walkin gloom.
"For behold,darknesswill coverthe earthAnd deepdarknessthe peoples;But the LORDwill riseupon you And His glorywill appearupon you.
To the lawand to the testimony!Ifthey do not speakaccording to thisword,it is becausethey havenodawn.
But there will be no[more] gloomfor her whowas in anguish;in earliertimesHe treatedthe landof Zebulunand the landof Naphtaliwith contempt,but lateron He shall make[it] glorious,by the wayof the sea,on the othersideof Jordan,Galileeof the Gentiles.
They sliceoff[what is] on the righthandbut [still] are hungry,And they eat[what is] on the lefthandbut they are not satisfied;Eachof them eatsthe fleshof his own arm.
Givegloryto the LORDyour God,BeforeHe bringsdarknessAnd beforeyour feetstumbleOn the duskymountains,And while you are hopingfor lightHe makesit into deepdarkness,[And] turns[it] into gloom.
"Thereforetheir waywill be like slipperypathsto them, They will be drivenawayinto the gloomand falldownin it; For I will bringcalamityupon them, The yearof their punishment,"declaresthe LORD.
"Thenthe kingsaidto the servants,'Bindhim handand foot,and throwhim into the outerdarkness;in that place therewill be weepingand gnashingof teeth.'
"But immediatelyafterthe tribulationof thosedaysTHE SUNWILL BE DARKENED,AND THE MOONWILL NOT GIVEITS LIGHT,AND THE STARSWILL FALLfrom the sky,and the powersof the heavenswill be shaken.
but the sonsof the kingdomwill be castout into the outerdarkness;in that place therewill be weepingand gnashingof teeth."
